Tag team match set for next week’s WWE SmackDown
A tag team match has been announced for the Friday, September 1 episode of WWE SmackDown.
Prior to defending his United States Championship at Payback the next day, Rey Mysterio will team with fellow LWO member Santos Escobar against Austin Theory & Grayson Waller on next week’s SmackDown.
Theory won a number one contender’s match for a US title shot on last week’s SmackDown and will get his opportunity against Mysterio at Payback. Waller will also appear on Payback, hosting The Grayson Waller Effect with guest Cody Rhodes.
Jimmy Uso’s return to SmackDown will also take place on next week’s SmackDown. Uso’s return segment was originally scheduled for this week, but was rescheduled as this week’s episode was reworked as a tribute show following the deaths of Bray Wyatt & Terry Funk.
Already announced, John Cena’s return to SmackDown is also set for next week’s show.
The updated lineup for the Friday, September 1 SmackDown in Hershey, Pennsylvania, the go-home show for next Saturday’s Payback pay-per-view:
