Styles back in the ring, Owens & Zayn appear at WWE house show

AJ Styles was back in action and Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn continued their firing angle at last night’s SmackDown house show in Trenton, New Jersey.

After facing Rusev on the March 13th episode of SmackDown, Styles didn’t wrestle at any of WWE’s house shows last weekend due to an undisclosed injury. He only appeared at Madison Square Garden on the 16th, where they did an injury angle to turn Styles & Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn into Nakamura vs. Owens. Owens and Zayn attacked Styles’ knee before the scheduled match, then Styles came back out later to make the save for Nakamura.

In Trenton, Styles teamed with all three members of The New Day against Rusev, Aiden English, Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin. Styles pinned English after hitting the Phenomenal Forearm.

Styles appeared on SmackDown last Tuesday and was on commentary for Nakamura vs. Rusev, but he didn’t do anything physical. Dave Meltzer then reported that Styles would be back in the ring this weekend.

Tuesday’s SmackDown also featured Daniel Bryan “firing” Owens and Zayn for their attack on Shane McMahon, with them laying out Bryan after. They rushed into the ring last night, addressed Bryan in a promo, and were interrupted by Shinsuke Nakamura’s music:
