Slim Jim returning as WWE sponsor after Vince McMahon resignation

With Vince McMahon gone from the company, Slim Jim is resuming its relationship with WWE.
WrestleVotes reported on Saturday that Slim Jim is back as a sponsor of tonight’s Royal Rumble event and will be continuing its sponsorships for future WWE shows. Slim Jim had confirmed on Friday that it was pausing its promotional activities with WWE due to the “recent disturbing allegations” made against McMahon. It was announced later on Friday night that McMahon has resigned from WWE and TKO Group Holdings and will no longer have a role with either WWE or TKO.
“After yesterday’s chaotic day, and the events that transpired, I am told Slim Jim is BACK as a main sponsor for tonight’s Royal Rumble PLE along with future WWE events,” WrestleVotes wrote.
Slim Jim issued the following statement confirming the decision:
After the departure of Vince McMahon, and discussions with WWE TKO senior leadership, Slim Jim has decided to re-enter the Royal Rumble.
The history between WWE and Slim Jim dates back to “Macho Man” Randy Savage’s time as a Slim Jim spokesperson. Last August, it was revealed that WWE and Slim Jim were renewing their partnership. It was touted as the largest sponsorship deal in WWE history.
Slim Jim sponsored a 25-man battle royal at SummerSlam 2023 and was also a sponsor for Survivor Series. Their sponsorship activations for 2024 include the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 40.
WWE and Slim Jim had announced a WrestleMania 40 sweepstakes where the winner would receive a WrestleMania trip along with the official Slim Jim car.
Following his resignation from WWE and TKO, McMahon issued a statement maintaining that he will vigorously defend himself against the allegations made against him by former WWE employee Janel Grant. McMahon claimed that the allegations are “baseless.” Grant filed a lawsuit this week accusing McMahon of physical and emotional abuse, sexual assault, and sex trafficking. McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis are named as defendants in the lawsuit.
