Shane McMahon takes storyline leave of absence from SmackDown

Shane McMahon has taken a storyline leave of absence from SmackDown.
He made the announcement tonight in the final segment of the program. All night it was being pushed on the show that Shane McMahon would be making a WrestleMania announcement. Before he did, he said that some of his actions in the last few months have not been becoming of someone in his position, and thus he would be stepping away indefinitely from the role as SmackDown commissioner. Following that announcement, he made Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens for WrestleMania.
This brought out both Zayn and Owens, who were not happy about being put in that match, but were glad that Shane was leaving. They ended up assaulting Shane, wrapping his throat with a chair and shoving it into the ringpost on the outside. They then dragged him to the back, where Owens powerbombed Shane on a grate.
Before being assaulted, Shane said that General Manager Daniel Bryan would be returning to the show next week.
