Seth Rollins to address his future as champion on WWE Raw

On Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, Seth Rollins will give an update on his knee injury.

WWE has announced that an appearance by Rollins will kick off Raw on Monday night (January 22). Rollins will address his future as World Heavyweight Champion.

Rollins retained the World Heavyweight title against Jinder Mahal in the main event of Raw this past Monday. But Rollins suffered a knee injury during a spot where he hit a Lionsault on Mahal. An MRI diagnosed Rollins with a torn MCL and partially torn meniscus.

Rollins defending his World Heavyweight Championship against CM Punk has been the plan for WrestleMania 40.

“As of this afternoon, Rollins vs. Punk was still scheduled for WrestleMania,” Dave Meltzer wrote in today’s Daily Update. “I was told that is ‘the current plan’ but obviously it depends on different factors as to if it could change.”

Monday’s Raw is taking place from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. It’s Raw’s go-home show for the Royal Rumble.

Here’s what’s been announced for the episode:

  • CM Punk & Cody Rhodes face-to-face
  • Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre
  • Chad Gable vs. Ivar
  • Ivy Nile vs. Valhalla
  • Seth Rollins will kick off Raw and address his future as World Heavyweight Champion
