Seth Rollins addresses CM Punk’s WWE return at live event

Seth Rollins had some words to say about CM Punk on Sunday.

Following Punk’s return to WWE at the end of Survivor Series on Saturday, Rollins was seen having to be held back from confronting him on the stage.

On Sunday, Rollins alluded to Punk’s return during a WWE live event at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois.

“I’m not going to waste anymore breathe on somebody who has been gone for eight years and has done nothing but try and tear this place down,” Rollins said. “Instead, I want to take my time, waste my breath, use my breath, talking about the people who have been here all along. That’s everybody in the back who has made WWE the hottest ticket in town and that’s every single one of you who are here tonight in Peoria.”

Our own Dave Meltzer reported on Sunday’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that Rollins’ actions at Survivor Series were part of an angle. The idea is to play off an interview Rollins gave in January where he referred to Punk as a “cancer.”

Punk has been announced as appearing on tonight’s WWE Raw from Nashville, TN. Rollins is featured in advertising for the show but currently does not have a match or segment scheduled.

Drew McIntyre was also on Sunday’s live event. He addressed recent reports that he was unhappy at the end of Survivor Series on Saturday as well.

“I didn’t win the World title match recently, WarGames last night, my stupid team lost the match for me. You’ve heard things probably on the internet, not in a great place, but there’s one thing that could turn this frown upside down, that can change things for me, it’s getting that World title,” McIntyre said.
