Sami Zayn vs. Sheamus to kick off WWE SmackDown

WWE has revealed the opening match for tonight’s episode of SmackDown.
In a video uploaded by WWE this afternoon, it was announced that Sami Zayn vs. Sheamus will kick off SmackDown tonight. The episode is airing on FS1 due to college footbal’s Pac-12 championship game being on Fox.

Zayn and The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, The Usos & Solo Sikoa) defeated Team Brutes (Sheamus, Ridge Holland, Butch, Drew McIntyre & Kevin Owens) in the men’s WarGames match at Survivor Series last Saturday. Zayn stayed loyal to The Bloodline in the match, betraying Owens and helping The Bloodline defeat Owens to get the victory.
Tonight’s SmackDown is being held at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. Along with featuring SmackDown’s fallout from Survivor Series: WarGames, the finals of the SmackDown World Cup will take place on the episode.
