Sami Zayn signs new multi-year deal with WWE

Sami Zayn will remain in WWE as he has re-signed a multi-year deal with the company.

Fightful first reported the news which has also been independently confirmed.

Zayn’s contract was reportedly up at the end of 2021, reported by Dave Meltzer last September. In a December Wrestling Observer Newsletter, he wrote that locker room talk was that Zayn had re-signed but didn’t have that confirmed.

The 37-year-old has been in the WWE system since 2013, spending nearly three years in NXT during which time he won the NXT title.

He made his main roster TV debut in 2015, revealed by Bret Hart as a challenger for then-U.S. Champion John Cena during the time Cena was doing his weekly open challenge series on WWE Raw.

He was called up full-time in 2016, debuting in that year’s Royal Rumble, and has been a main roster fixture ever since. He’s held the Intercontinental title twice.

He is currently the top contender for the Intercontinental title and will be part of this year’s Rumble match. He is also feuding with actor Johnny Knoxville who declared himself for the Rumble as well.

Zayn’s longtime friend and storyline rival Kevin Owens recently re-signed his own multi-year deal with WWE as his contract was set to expire this month.
