Sami Zayn out ‘indefinitely’ following WWE Raw angle
Sami Zayn has been written out.
Prior to his match against Bron Breakker on Monday, Zayn was attacked by Karrion Kross. Zayn insisted the match go on as scheduled. During the match Breakker speared Zayn once on the outside, then again as they were in the ring, scoring the pinfall. In a backstage segment that aired later in the show, Paul Heyman announced that Zayn was out of action “indefinitely” as a result of both Kross’ attack and the match with Breakker.
On last week’s show, Zayn was attacked with a metal pipe by Kross, who wasn’t done with Zayn despite his loss at Night of Champions. Zayn came out before Monday’s match with his ribs taped up. After the first spear, Michael Cole on commentary begged the referee to stop the match, pushing hard that Zayn was in no condition to continue.
The attack was part of Rollins’ plan for Monday’s Raw, with Bronson Reed also taking out Jey Uso after he ended their match by disqualification by throwing a chair at Uso and giving him two tsunami splashes. After Rollins defeated Penta in the main event, Paul Heyman ordered Penta be taken out next but LA Knight came in through the crowd instead, laying out Rollins with the BFT before Breakker and Reed could make the save.
