Sami Zayn confronts Gunther on WWE Raw, says he’s coming after World title
Sami Zayn is coming after Gunther.
As Gunther was in the ring on Monday’s Raw, Zayn came out and said he had thought about the Intercontinental title and how many champions went on to become world champions, including Gunther. Zayn told Gunther that now he wanted the World Heavyweight title.
Gunther responded saying that Zayn’s name wasn’t in the list of the legends he brought up. He liked people like Zayn because he kept getting up. However, he ultimately rejected Zayn’s challenge. As he was leaving, Zayn reminded him that he is the only person that has defeated Gunther in WWE, and he was coming for him.
The two last met at WrestleMania 40, where Zayn defeated Gunther to end his 666-day reign as Intercontinental Champion, the longest reign in the title’s history. Zayn would hold the title through SummerSlam when Bron Breakker defeated Zayn to win the title.
Gunther won the World Heavyweight title at SummerSlam and retained it at this past Saturday’s Bash in Berlin by defeating Randy Orton.
