Roman Reigns return, Triple H announced for WWE SmackDown season premiere

The return of Roman Reigns, plus a special appearance from Triple H are among the items set for next week’s season premiere of WWE SmackDown.
Reigns, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, will return to WWE television for the first time since August 11 on the Friday, October 13 SmackDown show. Reigns is also advertised for the October 27 SmackDown show, and is scheduled for the November 4 Crown Jewel pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia.
As for a potential storyline direction for Reigns, an alliance between The Bloodline and The Judgment Day was teased on this week’s episode in a series of backstage segments culminating with Rhea Ripley and Paul Heyman having a conversation and Heyman stating that he needed approval from Reigns to accept Ripley’s proposal.
WWE’s chief content officer Triple H has also been announced for next week’s SmackDown in what is billed as a special appearance.
The only match announced for next week is a tag team bout between Elton Prince & Kit Wilson of Pretty Deadly vs. Butch & Ridge Holland of The Brawling Brutes. The match will be the first for Prince since suffering a shoulder injury in July.
The lineup for SmackDown’s season premiere on Friday, October 13 on Fox:
- Roman Reigns returns
- Special appearance by Triple H
- Pretty Deadly vs. The Brawling Brutes
