Roman Reigns no longer scheduled for WWE Money in the Bank

The return to in-ring action for WWE undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns will have to wait a bit longer as he is no longer scheduled for next month’s Money in the Bank.

SI’s Justin Barrasso first reported the news Wednesday with our Dave Meltzer also confirming it.

It’s unclear why he is no longer on the July 2nd pay-per-view from Las Vegas, but Barrasso noted that “plans changed once Money in the Bank was moved from Allegiant Stadium to the indoor MGM Grand Garden Arena.”

In May, it was revealed that Reigns signed a new deal that would see him working a reduced schedule to include less live events. Meltzer had reported that despite that new deal, he was scheduled to work this month’s Hell in a Cell, July’s Money in the Bank, July’s SummerSlam and September’s Clash at the Castle. He then reported in mid-May that Reigns was no longer scheduled for HIAC.

Meltzer has also reported in the past that the original plan was for Reigns to wrestle Riddle, Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre at MITB, SummerSlam and Clash, respectively. Barrasso said that expected slate hasn’t changed.

Reigns hasn’t wrestled since a May 22nd win over McIntyre at a Cedar Rapids, Iowa, live event.
