Roman Reigns in talks for live-action Street Fighter film

Roman Reigns is in talks to appear in a new live-action Street Fighter film, according to Deadline.
He would join a cast that includes Jason Momoa (Aquaman, Minecraft), Andrew Koji (Bullet Train), and Noah Centineo (Warfare).
The film is based on the long-running Capcom video game series and is being developed by Legendary Entertainment, the studio behind the MonsterVerse (Godzilla vs. Kong) and The Dark Knight trilogy. Kitao Sakurai (Bad Trip) is set to direct.
Deadline described Reigns as “a pro wrestler born Leati Joseph Anoa’i with one of the longest world title reigns in the history of the WWE.”
Roman Reigns is in talks to play Akuma, one of the franchise’s most popular characters, according to Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider.

The last live-action Street Fighter film to be released in theaters was Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li in 2009. The franchise returned with the web series Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist in 2014 and Street Fighter: Resurrection in 2016. Akuma was portrayed in both by Joey Ansah, who also co-wrote and directed the series.
