Roman Reigns ‘Hail to the Chief’ segment set for WWE SmackDown

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is set to appear in a “Hail to the Chief” segment on this week’s SmackDown.

After defeating Jey Uso at SummerSlam to retain his Championship and title of Tribal Chief, Reigns will be joined by Jimmy Uso in the Hail to the Chief segment, as announced during Monday’s Raw broadcast.

Jimmy returned to the company at SummerSlam, turning on his brother Jey to help Reigns retain the Universal title in an anything goes Tribal Combat match. Jimmy had been out of action after an injury angle shot during the July 7 SmackDown show at Madison Square Garden.

Reigns joins a lineup for Friday’s SmackDown that includes a United States Championship match with Austin Theory defending against US Championship Invitational winner Santos Escobar, plus AJ Styles taking on Karrion Kross.

This week’s SmackDown will be held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

The updated lineup for the Friday, August 11 WWE SmackDown:

  • Roman Reigns Hail to the Chief segment with Jimmy Uso
  • United States Championship: Austin Theory defends against Santos Escobar
  • AJ Styles vs. Karrion Kross
