Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes face-to-face set for WWE SmackDown

Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes are set to cross paths on SmackDown tonight.

Last Saturday, Rhodes became the first person since Steve Austin to win Royal Rumble matches in back-to-back years. Rhodes immediately signaled that he wants to finish his story by challenging Reigns in a rematch for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 40.
But there was a segment on Raw this week where World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins made the case for Rhodes to challenge him at WrestleMania instead of Reigns. Rhodes told Rollins that he respects him and will think about it.
Rollins vs. CM Punk had been planned for WrestleMania 40, but that won’t be happening due to Punk’s torn triceps.
Women’s Royal Rumble winner Bayley is also set to appear on SmackDown tonight. We’ll find out whether she’s challenging Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley or WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY at WrestleMania.
Here’s the updated SmackDown lineup:
- Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and men’s Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes go face-to-face
- Women’s Royal Rumble winner Bayley chooses her WrestleMania opponent
- United States Champion Logan Paul appears
