Rollins facing Reigns on SD, winning brand gets first pick in WWE Draft

Before the WWE Draft begins on tomorrow’s SmackDown, a match with draft implications will open the show.

WWE has announced Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns as the opening match for this Friday’s SmackDown. Rollins is representing Raw, while Reigns is representing SmackDown. The stipulation is that — if Rollins wins — Raw will get the first overall pick in the draft. SmackDown will get the first overall pick if Reigns wins.

Heading into the draft, Rollins has been on the Raw roster and is the Universal Champion. Reigns has been on SmackDown since joining the brand in this April’s Superstar Shake-up. They’ll be eligible to be picked by either brand in the draft.

Rollins didn’t appear on this week’s Raw. The show came the night after his Hell in a Cell match against The Fiend ended without a decisive finish. WWE is calling the finish a stoppage.

Reigns & Daniel Bryan defeated Erick Rowan & Luke Harper in a tornado tag match at Hell in a Cell.

Tomorrow’s SmackDown is taking place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Night two of the draft will then be held on Monday’s Raw at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.
