Rok-C reportedly signs WWE contract, set to start in NXT

Nearly a month after her trainer Booker T backtracked after initially breaking the news, Rok-C has reportedly signed a WWE contract and will start in NXT.
PWInsider reported the news Monday.
During a mid-February appearance on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour, Booker T said the 20-year-old had signed a deal but later tweeted that he misspoke. That came a week after our Dave Meltzer reported the former Ring of Honor Women’s Champion had been offered a contract after two tryouts with the company.
Rok-C dropped the ROH title in January to Deonna Purrazzo on an episode of Impact Wrestling and has wrestled just twice since then: a January match against Miranda Gordy in MLW and a late-February Texas indie match against Raychell Rose.
As was the case with all other contracted talent, she became a free agent as part of the changes within ROH as the company announced a plan to go dark in the first quarter of 2022 to restructure and revamp. AEW’s Tony Khan then announced that he bought the company from Sinclair nearly two weeks ago.
Rok-C became the brand’s first Women’s Champion as the title was introduced in a tournament last summer.
