Ric Flair’s surgery postponed to Monday

According to his wife’s Instagram account, Ric Flair’s surgery has been postponed until Monday due to undisclosed medical complications.

While the details on the surgery and the specific complications are still under wraps, Atlanta Fox 5’s Will Nunley reported Thursday that a heart condition that has plagued Flair for years is what is causing problems. He said the scheduled surgery, which was planned for today in Atlanta at one point, was a serious one.

TMZ reported Friday that Flair has had four heart surgeries over the past few months.

Wendy Barlow, Flair’s wife, posted the following Friday: “Ric’s surgery has been postponed until Monday to address some complications that needed to be taken care of first. Thanks for all the well wishes.”

News broke on TMZ Thursday that the 70-year-old Flair was rushed to the hospital and that the situation was serious. Flair’s son-in-law Conrad Thompson downplayed the severity on a Starrcast media call, saying the procedure was planned. When talking about the procedure Thursday, Barlow said Flair expected to make a full recovery.

Flair is scheduled to appear at Starrcast in Las Vegas a week from Friday for “The Roast of Ric Flair” event.
