Rhodes vs. Nakamura, CM Punk appearance set for next WWE Raw
Cody Rhodes vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, plus an appearance by CM Punk have been announced for the Monday, January 8 WWE Raw episode.
Rhodes vs. Nakamura will square off again on next week’s Raw after last going one-on-one in a televised bout on the December 11 Raw, a match Rhodes won by DQ after being misted by Nakamura.
The bout for next week was made official on Raw after Nakamura interrupted an in-ring Rhodes promo segment with his own promo on the video wall.
CM Punk will also appear on next week’s Raw.
Punk was backstage at this week’s Raw show in San Diego, but did not appear on the program. Punk has already declared for the Royal Rumble match on Saturday, January 27.
The Women’s Tag Team titles will also be on the line next week, as Katana Chance & Kayden Carter will defend their titles against former champions Piper Niven & Chelsea Green.
Following Raw, WWE posted a video setting up a match between Finn Balor and Tommaso Ciampa for next week’s show, the story being that R-Truth booked a match for Finn Balor without him knowing it. After R-Truth accused Balor of being too chicken to take the match, Balor accepted.
