WWE Winnipeg live results: AJ Styles vs. The Miz

Submitted by Jeff Gratzi

– SmackDown Tag Team Champions Cesaro & Sheamus defeated The New Day to retain their titles

New Day did their shtick all match and were really over, probably getting one of the top three babyface reactions of the night. Cesaro & Sheamus got one of the better heel reactions.

– Samoa Joe attacked Jeff Hardy on the entrance ramp and choked him out.

– Charlotte Flair defeated Asuka

Charlotte got a good reaction. There were lots of “Woos” for her, and she talked about how she is going to take back the SmackDown Women’s Championship at TLC.

Charlotte and Asuka hugged it out after Charlotte won.

– Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson defeated The Colons

The crowd was pretty silent for The Colons. There wasn’t too much of a reaction for Gallows & Anderson except for the Marty Scurll “Too Sweet Whoop Whoop” chants during their entrance. Gallows & Anderson won with the Magic Killer.

– Jeff Hardy defeated Samoa Joe

Hardy came out and challenged Joe. They brawled a bit on the outside of the ring to start. Hardy got a huge reaction, especially after he won. It may have been the loudest of the night. Joe got the second loudest heel heat of the night.

The finish came when Joe tried to pour “crappy Canadian beer” on Hardy/down his throat, but Hardy countered and gave Joe a standing splash for the win.

– Lana defeated Peyton Royce

There was a decent reaction for the IIconics trashing Winnipeg. Lana got some good “Rusev Day” chants. She won with a very slow motion roll-up.

Billie Kay then entered the ring and said Lana couldn’t beat her as well.

– Lana defeated Billie Kay

Lana won with another roll-up after about three seconds. There was a loud pop for Lana after the second pin.

– Rusev defeated Shinsuke Nakamura by DQ

There were good reactions for both. Nakamura was getting a face reaction at the start, but fans turned on him when he hit Rusev with a low blow for the disqualification.

– AJ Styles defeated The Miz

Miz was on fire, getting the loudest heel reaction I’ve heard at a Winnipeg show in a long, long time. The guy knows how to get the fans against him. I believe I said the same type of thing the last time WWE came to Winnipeg, but this time the boos were so much louder. I might not be the biggest Miz fan, but you’d have to not be paying attention to not see him being the absolute best at his job.

Styles got a great face reaction, possibly second to the pop Hardy got — but that’s debatable. Miz controlled most of the match until Styles hit the Phenomenal Forearm for the win.
