WWE SmackDown live results: Survivor Series weekend begins

Survivor Series weekend kicks off tonight as Friday Night SmackDown takes place at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.

Tonight is the start of four straight nights at the Allstate Arena for WWE. The venue will also host NXT TakeOver: WarGames, Survivor Series, and Raw in the coming days.

Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt will defend his title against Daniel Bryan this Sunday night. Tonight, Bryan calls out Wyatt to meet him face-to-face in the ring.

Roman Reigns, Mustafa Ali & Shorty G face King Corbin, Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler in a six-man tag match tonight. The match was made after Ali & Shorty G retained their Survivor Series spots against Ziggler & Roode last week.

Reigns leads Team SmackDown members Corbin, Ali, Shorty G & Braun Strowman in a traditional Survivor Series match against Raw and NXT at Sunday’s pay-per-view.

Plus, SmackDown, Raw, and NXT are in attendance tonight ahead of their big clash at Survivor Series.

Roman Reigns addressed the SmackDown roster in the back. He noted they’re not cowards like King Corbin and are opening the doors to let Raw and NXT in. The garage door slowly opened, and Corbin yelled at Reigns. He felt they’re making a mistake and started arguing with Reigns. Sasha Banks interrupted and noted the boss waits for no one. 

Team SmackDown (Sasha Banks, Lacey Evans, Dana Brooke, Carmella, and Nikki Cross) made their way to the ring. Banks gloated about beating down the NXT and Raw teams. Banks noted she knows the Raw team is there and called them out.

Team Raw (Charlotte Flair, Kairi Sane, Asuka, Natalya, and Sarah Logan) made their way down to the ring. Flair thanked them for opening the door but pointed out Raw would have knocked down the door. Flair then challenged Banks to go one-on-one for old times sakes. 

Rhea Ripley, Tegan Nox, Candace LeRae, Mia Yim, and Dakota Kai interrupted. Ripley said NXT are not cowards and challenged Banks and Flair to make it a triple threat match. All three teams got in the ring, and a massive brawl broke out. 

Triple Threat Match: Rhea Ripley defeated Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks 

The Raw, SmackDown and NXT teams were all in their team captains corner. 

Banks got tossed out of the match, which left Flair and Ripley to go back and forth. Flair rocked Ripley with a huge boot. Ripley fought back, but Banks caught Ripley with the backstabber from behind. 

Ripley recovered and tossed Banks to the floor. Banks fought back, but Flair pushed her into her team member Nikki Cross. Banks and Cross started arguing, but the team members tried to intervene. Ripley jumped Banks, and they traded shots. Suddenly, Flair hit a moonsault to the floor to a huge pop. 

Back from the break, Ripley scored a close near fall on Flair. Ripley dropped Banks face first on the turnbuckle. Banks fought back and hit the Meteora, but Flair hit Natural Selection on Banks for a two count. 

The finish came when Banks attempted the backstabber, but Flair reversed into the Figure four leg lock. Ripley jumped in the ring and did a crucifix type of move on Flair for the win. 

After the match, the Raw and SmackDown teams brawled while the NXT women stood on the ramp and watched. The fans broke into a huge “NXT” chant. 

In the back, King Corbin met with Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler. They discussed their upcoming six-man tag match against Roman Reigns, Shorty G, and Mustafa Ali. Corbin pointed out that Ali’s from Chicago. They plan to let Raw and NXT beat up Reigns and his partners. Then they’ll beat up Reigns and his partners again.

Sami Zayn interrupted and sang. Corbin called him the most annoying person around. Zayn challenged Corbin to say that to his face in the ring. 

Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura made their way to the ring. Corey Graves pointed out Zayn had a black bag, 

Kayla Braxton interviewed SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley. She pointed out that she’s the only one to win all the major titles. Bayley knows Becky Lynch won’t show up tonight, but Shayna Baszler is different. She challenged Baszler to face her later. 

In the ring, Sami Zayn noted he’s not surprised that King Corbin isn’t coming out to face him. Zayn talked about being a stud and that Shinsuke Nakamura is a stud too. He then presented Nakamura with a brand new Intercontinental championship belt. The fans popped for the new title. Zayn noted this is the only title that matters. They’re not worried about United States Champion AJ Styles but couldn’t remember Roderick Strong’s name. 

The Undisputed Era (NXT Champion Adam Cole, North American Champion Roderick Strong, NXT tag team champions Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly) interrupted and made their way to the ring. The fans gave them a considerable reaction and broke into an “Undisputed Era” chant. Zayn and Nakamura walked off. 

Cole noted they have some business to take care of Saturday night at Takeover but are ready for Sunday. 

SmackDown tag team champions The New Day made their way to the ring. Kofi Kingston challenged them to a match right now. Strong accepted the four on two match but New Day then introduced their partners Heavy Machinery. 

The Undisputed Era defeated The New Day & Heavy Machinery 

The heels distracted Big E, and Roderick Strong jumped him from behind. The faces fought back, and Big hit a splash on Bobby Fish on the apron. He then gave Kyle O’Reilly a belly to belly suplex on the floor.

Kofi Kingston rocked Adam Cole with a superkick, but Strong made the blind tag. He caught Kingston with a backbreaker. The heels isolated Kingston and cut him off from his corner. 

Kingston fought back and climbed to the top, but Strong cut him off. Tucker argued with the heels at ringside. Inside the ring, Strong dropkicked Kingston off the top, and he fell onto Tucker. Otis tried to pull them apart, but Big E took offense. They had a staredown. 

Back from the break, Bobby Fish slowed the pace down with a chin lock. On commentary, Michael Cole noted Kingston’s been in the ring for a long time, and Heavy Machinery has yet to enter. 

Kingston hit a missile dropkick, and Otis got the hot tag. He ran wild and hit a splash in the corner on O’Reilly and Cole. Otis went from the caterpillar, but Fish pulled Cole out of the ring. 

Tucker hit a splash and side slam on Strong for a near fall. Tucker then hit a huge moonsault, but Cole broke up the pin attempt. Otis finally hit the caterpillar, but the heels recovered. Strong caught Tucker with a kick for the win. 

After the match, Roderick Strong with face-to-face with Shinsuke Nakamura. Suddenly, AJ Styles flew in and attacked both men. Sami Zayn attacked Styles and Strong with a chair. 

Micheal Cole and Corey Graves ran down the line up for the Survivor Series this Sunday night. 

AJ Styles, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson addressed the fans. The crowd broke into a loud “CM Punk” chant. Styles mocked Punk and claimed he’d mop the floor with him. He promised to defeat Nakamura and Strong this Sunday night.

Daniel Bryan interrupted and made his way down to the ring. The fans broke into a loud “Daniel Bryan” chant. They recapped “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt attacking Daniel Bryan and last week on Miz TV. 

Bryan noted he’s not out there to chant yes, preach about the environment or play with puppets. He’s out here to summon Wyatt to the ring and challenged him to come to the ring. 

Suddenly, the lights went out, but when they came back on, Bryan was still alone in the ring. Bryan knows Wyatt’s just playing mind games. 

The Miz interrupted and made his way to the ring. Last week, Miz had to bite his tongue and hold back. He can’t wait for Wyatt to defeat Bryan and the fans cheered. Miz then slapped Bryan in the face.  

Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz 

Miz rocked Bryan with kicks, but Bryan fought back. He caught Miz with a running knee off the apron. Miz regained control and scored a near fall on Bryan. He slowed the pace down with a chin lock.

Bryan fought back and hit the running dropkicks in the corner. Bryan climbed to the top, but Miz cut him off and attempted a superplex. Bryan pushed him off and hit a missile dropkick. 

Miz was lying in the corner, and Bryan set up for the running knee. Bryan teased doing the Yes chant, but the lights went out. 

“The Fiend” Bray appeared in place of Miz in the corner. The lights turned red, and Wyatt applied the mandible claw on Bryan. 

NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler made her way to the ring. She noted she’s in the middle of the ring, not lurking in the shadow. She waited in the ring when Bayley jumped her from behind. 

They brawled around ringside, but Bayley pushed Baszler into the steps and ran off. The fans broke into a loud “Becky” chant. 

King Corbin, Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler defeated Roman Reigns, Mustafa Ali & Shorty G 

Reigns attacked all three heels and hit the drive-by. The heels took over when Corbin pushed Reigns into the barricade. Shorty G came in and hit a suplex on Ziggler for a near fall. Corbin and Roode then launched Shorty G from the apron on to the announce table. This looked brutal and painful. Reigns and Ali checked on Shorty G.

Back from the break, Shorty G is out of the match, and Ali’s on the apron alone. Ziggler caught Reigns with a DDT for a near fall. Ali got the hot tag and ran wild. He hit suicide dive on Ziggler and then jumped in the ring and hit a second dive on Roode.

In the ring, Ali caught Corbin with a tornado DDT and climbed to the top. Roode cut off Ali and nailed Shorty G with a spine buster on the floor. Reigns caught Roode with a superman punch.

Ziggler pushed Ali off the top rope, and Corbin hit the End of Days on Ali beating him in his hometown.

Suddenly, Seth Rollins and the Raw roster made their way down to the ring. Rolins and Reigns went back and forth, but they were overwhelmed by the Raw team. 

Braun Strowman and the SmackDown roster ran down for the save, and a big brawl broke out.

The fans broke into a loud “NXT” chant. 

In the back, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Road Dogg led the NXT roster to the ring in a hummer. The NXT roster ran down to the ring to a huge pop. The fans broke into another loud “NXT” chant. 

Keith Lee and Strowman went face-to-face with the rest of the rosters brawling around ringside. Strowman and Lee started trading shots in the middle of the ring.
