The build to Survivor Series continues on tonight’s SmackDown from the ThunderDome.

Survivor Series will feature two elimination matches between Raw and SmackDown. King Corbin defeated Rey Mysterio last week to qualify for the men’s SmackDown team. During the match, Seth Rollins attacked Dominik Mysterio at ringside, which brought out Aalyah Mysterio and Murphy. The distraction caused Rey to lose.

Later, Rollins defeated Otis to qualify for the Survivor Series team as well when Murphy helped Rollins. After the match, Murphy seemed to become Rollin’s disciple again. Aalyah was furious at Murphy, but he begged her to trust him. The SmackDown men’s team now consists of Corbin, Rollins, Kevin Owens, and Jey Uso, with one spot remaining.

Rey and Rollins will face off tonight, with WWE advertising, they have both agreed to make the matchup between them the final chapter in their highly personal rivalry.

Universal Champion and head of the table Roman Reigns made his way to the ring with Paul Heyman to start SmackDown.

Micahel Cole and Corey Graves discussed Reigns taking on either the WWE Champion Randy Orton or Drew McIntyre at the Survivor Series. They promoted the Orton against McIntryre match for Raw on Monday.

Reigns took the mic and asked Heyman what he calls this place. Heyman calls it the island of relevancy. Anyone that steps in the ring with Reigns becomes relevant.

Reigns said the analytics are right. Reigns talked about his cousin Jey Uso. He said before the fans didn’t even know which twin Jey was. Now Jey’s a main eventer. He took out Daniel Bryan two weeks ago and took out Kevin Owens last week.

Reigns promised that Uso is going to lead his Survivor Series team to victory.

Reigns then talked about his Survivor Series opponent Randy Orton. He praised Orton, but that doesn’t mean he respects him.

Suddenly, Raw’s Drew McIntyre’s music hit, and he made his way to the ring. McIntrye was walking by and heard Reigns talking about Orton. McIntrye promised to win the title and take on Reigns.

The last time they were in the ring together was at the Royal Rumble when McIntrye eliminated him to win the Rumble match. He then talked about defeating Brock Lesnar in 5 minutes at WrestleMania.

McIntrye pointed out that Reigns left the company after WrestleMania. McIntyre took over the company while Reigns was gone.

Reigns said he respects McIntrye, but he’s back now. Reigns said he doesn’t watch Raw. Heyman yelled, “You’re not missing much.” Reigns said nobody watches Raw because he’s on SmackDown. Nobody cares about Mcintyre anymore because he’s back.

Mcintrye promised to defeat Orton and win the WWE Championship. Then he’s going to the Survivor Series and defeat Reigns.

Jey Uso ran out and got in McIntrye’s face. Uso noted he beat Bryan and Owens. He told McIntrye that this isn’t Raw. Uso then challenged McIntyre to a match tonight. McIntrye went to respond, but Uso dropped the mic.

Reigns and Uso then left the ring without getting an answer.

This was a great opening segment. Everyone involved was excellent in their role.

In the back, Reigns was furious at Uso for challenging McIntyre to a match. Reigns is the only one that’s in charge. Uso promised to take care of it.

Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn defeated Apollo Crews

This was a bit of a disappointment considering who was involved. It wasn’t much of a match and was kept short.

Zayn was already in the ring. He was furious that he has to defend the title against Apollo Crews tonight. Zayn noted he found out about the match at 7 p.m. today. He’s said it’s okay, though, because he can prove to Bobby Lashley why the Intercontinental Champion is better than the U.S. Champion.

Crews had the early advantage. He hit a splash in the corner and press slammed him into the turnbuckle. They fought over a vertical suplex, which Crews won. He followed up with a standing moonsault for a close near fall.

Zayn ended up at ringside and pulled off the ring apron skirt. Crews stalked Zayn around ringside, but Zayn pushed him into the side of the ring. Zayn then tied up Crews’ leg in the ropes under the ring and won by count-out.

In the back, Adam Pearce spoke with Drew McIntrye. Pearce wants to know if McIntrye wants the match with Uso tonight. McIntryre told Pearce that he does and also told Pearce to tell Reigns to sit ringside.

Kayla Braxton interviewed Rey, Angie, Dominik, and Aalyah Mysterio. Rey noted this isn’t just about Rollins trying to take out his eye, paternity tests, or text messages. He said Rollins made this about his family and promised to end this tonight.

Drew McIntyre against Jey Uso is official for later tonight.

Sasha Banks Segment

They recapped Banks defeating Bayley last week and Carmella attacking her after the match.

SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks made her way to the ring. She talked about all the haters and everyone that doubted her. She noted everyone thought she could win the title but never hold on to it. Banks proved everyone wrong by defeating Bayley last week. Banks then put the entire locker room on notice.

Bayley’s music hit, and she made her way towards the ring. Banks yelled at Bayley. Suddenly, Carmella jumped Banks from behind and beat her down. Carmella then posed over a fallen Banks.

In the back, Otis was at a table eating alone. Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode showed up. They mocked Otis for eating alone and losing the Money in the Bank contract. Ziggler claimed Mandy Rose still texts him. Otis lost his cool and flipped over the table, causing Ziggler and Roode to run off.

This was kept short, with Otis dominating most of the match.

They showed Seth Rollins speaking to Murphy in the back. Michael Cole noted that Murphy is apparently back with Rollins.

In the back, Otis was furious. Chad Gable approached and told Otis that he needs to be that way all the time. Gable wants to mentor Otis and gave him a pamphlet for the Alpha Academy. Otis agreed and is excited to join. Gable gave Otis a sinister grin as he walked off.

No Holds Barred Match: Rey Mysterio (w/Angie, Aalyah & Dominik Mysterio) defeated Seth Rollins (w/Murphy)

This was a really good match. Rollins and Mysterio worked hard and told a good story.

Rollins wants to gain revenge on his former disciple Murphy.

Survivor Series Qualifying Match: Liv Morgan defeated Chelsea Green, Natalya, and Tamina

This was a fine match, although it was mostly Morgan and Natalya for the bulk of the match. Green’s debut was an afterthought, and they didn’t really focus on her all that much.

Initially, this was a triple threat match until Green was introduced. Natalya and Green worked together to take out Tamina. Morgan took out Green from the match and scored a near fall on Natalya.

Unsanctioned Match: Raw’s Drew McIntrye defeated SmackDown’s Jey Uso

McIntrye and Uso had a good match.
