WWE SmackDown live results: Hell in a Cell build continues


The build to Hell in a Cell continues on tonight’s SmackDown.
Last week, SmackDown Tag Team Champions Rey & Dominik Mysterio defended against The Usos twice in one night. Dominik Mysterio pinned Jimmy Uso in the first match, although the referee didn’t notice that Jimmy got one shoulder up.
Universal Champion Roman Reigns belittled his cousins for losing to a kid. Later, Dominik set up for the frog splash on Jimmy in the rematch, but Reigns ran in for the disqualification.
After the match, Reigns hit Rey Mysterio with the steel steps and gave Dominik a vicious beatdown. Jimmy tried to stop Reigns and left the ring. He implored his brother Jey to join him, but Reigns stopped him. Jey was left between Jimmy and Reigns as Reigns continued to attack Dominik.
WWE is teasing that Rey will be out for payback tonight.
Two tag matches have also been announced for tonight. Kevin Owens & Big E will face Apollo Crews & Sami Zayn, while The Street Profits will take on Chad Gable & Otis. Plus, Seth Rollins will be Bayley’s guest on “Ding Dong, Hello!”

They recapped Rey & Dominik against The Usos and the fallout. It highlighted Roman Reigns mixing up Jimmy and Jey. Jey corrected him, but Reigns noted it doesn’t matter.
Reigns and Jey Uso watched the recap in Reigns’ locker room. Reigns noted he saved The Usos last week, and that Jey owes him. Reigns said there’s one thing he won’t stand for.
Jey admitted they let the family down. Reigns noted Jey knows that, but Jimmy doesn’t.
Suddenly, The Uso’s music hit, and Jimmy made his way to the ring. Reigns was upset that Jimmy went to the ring.
Jimmy Uso Segment
Jimmy Uso made his way to the ring. He said last week should have been a celebration, but they got robbed. Jimmy discussed the first match and his shoulder being up.
Jimmy said it was okay because they got the rematch. However, Jimmy was furious that Reigns interfered in the rematch. He wondered if Reigns got them disqualified on purpose. Jimmy believes Reigns is jealous. Jimmy wants to reform the Usos and win the tag team titles, but Reigns wants to be the only champion in the family.
Reigns, Jey and Paul Heyman, watched from their locker room.
Jimmy knows that Reigns is brainwashing his brother. So he promised that he’s going to do something tonight that he won’t regret.
Back to Reigns’ dressing room, Reigns noted that Jimmy’s not his twin brother. He told Jey to take care of his problem.
Back from the break, Jey approached Jimmy in the hallway. Jimmy got Jey to admit he thought they were going to win the titles. Jimmy was furious that Jey didn’t have his back last week and walk out with him.
Jimmy called Reigns a family disgrace. Jey got back in Jimmy’s face. He noted he’s been with the Reigns while Jimmy was injured.
Jimmy told Jey that Reigns can find him in “our” locker room.
Kevin Owens & Big E defeated Sami Zayn & Apollo Crews (Commander Azeez)
This a good tag team match and a fun opener.
Owens ran wild early, attacking both Zayn and Crews. He sent Zayn to the floor and beat him around ringside. Crews took advantage and jumped Owens from behind to take over.
The heels isolated Owens on their side of the ring. Big E got the hot tag and ran wild. Crews briefly took over, but Big E hit the uranage for a close near fall. Big E attempted the spear off the apron, but Crews moved. Big E crashed hard on the floor.
Back from the break, the heels were firmly in control. They isolated Big E in their corner and cut him off from Owens. Zayn slowed the pace down with a chin lock. Big E tried to break free, but the heels regain control.
Crews missed a frog splash. Owens and Zayn both tagged in at the same time. Owens beat down Zayn and sent him out of the ring.
Owens followed up with a cannonball off the apron and a senton on the floor. Owens then hit a cannonball in the corner and a Swanton Bomb for a close near fall.
Owens hit a superkick and pop-up powerbomb on Crews for a near fall, but Zayn broke up the pin. Zayn then hit the blue thunder bomb on Owens for a near fall, but Big E broke up the pin.
Big E and Crews took a nasty-looking fall out of the ring. Big E appeared to land on Crews awkwardly. However, Zayn missed the helluva kick, and Owens hit the stunner for the win.
After the match, Crews claimed he lost because he had to tag with Zayn. He called Zayn an idiot. Crews challenged Owens and Big E to face him and Azeez next week.
Zayn was furious that Crews called him an idiot and got in Crews’ face. Azeez then hit the Nigerian Nail on Zayn.
In the back, Rey was passionately speaking to Adam Pearce.
They recapped the angle between Alpha Academy and the Street Profits.
In the back, Chad Gable approached The Street Profits and apologized for Otis attacking them. Gable got the tag match canceled for later. The Street Profits mocked Gable again, so he challenged one of them to a match later.
Ford accepted the challenge. Gable promised to leave Otis in the back. As he walked away, Gable noted Otis is still mad.
In Reigns locker room, Reigns asked Jey about Jimmy. Jey noted he tried to talk to Jimmy, but he’s mad right now. Reigns wanted to talk to Jimmy.
Jey noted he’s in “our” locker room. Reigns laughed that Jey called it “our” locker room.
Reigns then promised to go to Jimmy’s locker room.
Liv Morgan defeated Carmella
This was fine. They did 50/50 booking, and Morgan got her win back from last week.
They recapped Carmella beating Morgan last week with the code of silence.
Morgan attacked Carmella at the bell. She backed Carmella in the corner and beat her down. Carmella dragged Morgan outside the ring and sent her into the apron.
Carmella told Michael Cole to tell everyone that she’s the most beautiful woman. Morgan briefly regained control, but Carmella rocked her with a kick. Carmella then yelled at Morgan and pushed her around.
Carmella missed a superkick, and Morgan hit oblivion for the win.
After the match, Carmella made the announcer tell everyone she’s still the most beautiful woman in the WWE. Carmella didn’t seem to care that she lost as long as she’s still beautiful.
They showed Bayley in the back getting ready to host Ding Dong Hello.
Ding Dong Hello
Bayley welcomed everyone to Ding Dong Hello. She noted she updated the set with new pictures of herself. Bayley then introduced her guest Seth Rollins.
Bayley thanked Rollins for using the front door. Rollins admitted that he’s a huge fan of Bayley.
He talked about Bayley putting SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair in her place. Rollins wondered what’s with the kids today.
Rollins has no doubt Bayley’s going to beat Balanca at Hell in a Cell. Rollins showed footage of Baylay laughing at Belair last week.
After watching the footage, Bayley and Rollins laughed uncontrollably. Bayley then showed footage of Rollins attacking Cesaro a few weeks ago.
After watching the footage, they were deadly serious but started laughing again.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang. They both thought the other person got them a gift. Rollins opened the door, and Cesaro was standing there. Cesaro attacked Rollins and ripped his suit apart.
Cesaro ripped of Rollins’s pants and threw him into the door. Rollins ran off as Cesaro destroyed the set. Bayley covered her eyes and yelled at Cesaro to stop.
Bayley was devastated as she tried to put her set back together. Then, Bianca Belair’s music hit, and she walked out. Belair started to laugh uncontrollably.
They recapped Roman Reigns attacking Rey and Dominik Mysterio last week.
In the back, Megan Morant interviewed Rey. She said the footage is hard to watch but especially for Dominik’s father. Rey was devastated that Reigns beat Dominik down last week.
Rey was furious that Reigns targeted his family. He promised to call out Reigns in the ring later tonight.
Montez Ford defeated Chad Gable via DQ
Gable and Ford had a good match until the weak finish.
Gable and Ford started with some mat wrestling. Ford targeted the arm, but Gable broke free. Gable slowed the pace down and worked over the arm. Gable used a deep arm drag, but Ford recovered. Ford slowed the pace down, but Gable broke free.
They showed Angelo Dawkins watching the match in the back.
Ford attempted a leapfrog, but Gable grabbed his leg and got the ankle lock. Ford reversed into a near fall.
Gable rolled to the floor, and Ford attempted a dive. Gable grabbed the legs, but Ford broke free. Ford then hit the dive on Gable.
Back from the break, Gable hit a back suplex on Ford. Ford ended up on the apron and fought back. He attempted a springboard into the ring, but Gable caught him with a Northern Lights suplex for a near fall.
Otis attacked Dawkins in the back.
Ford hit a spinebuster for a close near fall. Ford slowly climbed to the top and hit the frog splash. He made the pin, but Gable kicked out at the last possible second. Otis jumped in for the disqualification. Otis might have missed his cue and was suppose to break up the pin but was late.
Otis attacked Ford and gave him a vicious beat down. He then beat him around ringside and hit the world’s strongest slam.
Otis then hit a splash off the second turnbuckle.
Dawkins tried to make the save, but Otis beat him down too.
Shinsuke Nakamura (w/ Rick Boogs) defeated King Corbin
This was the exact same match and angle they’ve done the last three weeks. The only difference is they cut Nakamura’s entrance.
Back from the break, Corbin and Nakamura were standing in the ring. Neither guy got an entrance.
The bell rang, and Boogs started playing his guitar at ringside. Corbin was distracted immediately, and Nakamura took advantage. He rocked Corbin with a knee off the second turnbuckle for near fall.
On commentary, Michael Cole explained that Corbin and Nakamura are feuding over the crown.
Nakamura went from the Kinshasa, but Corbin hit deep six for a near fall. Corbin was firmly in control and continued to beat down Nakamura. Suddenly, Nakamura rolled up Corbin for the win.
Corbin jumped Nakamura and ran to get the crown. Boogs tried to stop him, but Corbin slammed him on the announce table. Nakamura grabbed the crown from Corbin and celebrated.
In Reigns’s dressing room, Reigns decided it was time to talk to Jimmy.
In the back, King Corbin approached Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville. He was furious about Nakamura. Pearce agreed to Corbin vs. Nakamura in a battle of the crowns next week.
In the Uso’s locker room, Reigns and Jey approached Jimmy. Reigns and Jimmy argued with Jey standing in the middle. Jey was tired of the arguing and walked off.
Jimmy got in Reign’s face and challenged him to a fight. Reigns doesn’t want to fight.
He talked to Jimmy and tried to explain it to him. Reigns should be able to depend on Jimmy. Reigns gave a passionate speech about being the best.
Reigns reminded Jimmy that Jey’s his brother, and he needs to make it right. Jimmy then left his own locker room. Reigns put his belt on his shoulder. Reigns and The Usos were great in their segments tonight.
Rey Mysterio Calls Out Roman Reigns
This was a good segment.
Rey noted Reigns disrespected his family and demanded he come to the ring. Reigns took his time and slowly walked to the ring with Paul Heyman.
Reigns got in the ring and posed with the belt.
Rey waited and watched from the corner. Rey acknowledged Reigns. He acknowledged him as the man he’s willing to fight even if he loses the fight. He also acknowledged him as the guy he wants to fight inside the Hell in a Cell. Rey noted that he laid out his challenge, so it’s Reigns’ turn to acknowledge.
Reigns acknowledged Rey. He started to talk when Rey suddenly attacked Reigns with a kendo stick. Reigns fought back and set up for a powerbomb, but Rey hit him with the kendo stick again.
Reigns hit the superman punch and set up for the spear. Suddenly, a kendo stick hit Reigns off camera. Dominik Mysterio returned and beat down Reigns.
Reigns recovered and gave Dominik a powerbomb from the ring to outside on the floor. They shot it in a way that looked like a very dangerous spot, but it was probably done safely.
Rey fought back and checked on Dominik as Reigns stood over them. Referees and officials ran out to check on him as well.
Next Week: Apollo Crews & Commander Azeez take on Big E & Kevin Owens. Plus, Shinsuke Nakamura vs. King Corbin in a battle of the crowns.
