WWE SmackDown live results: Goldberg responds to Undertaker

SmackDown takes place from the Sames Auto Arena in Laredo, Texas tonight and features the final build to Super ShowDown.

Goldberg makes his first-ever SmackDown appearance tonight. He promises to respond to The Undertaker ahead of their match at Super ShowDown in Saudi Arabia this Friday.

WWE Champion Kofi Kingston defends against Dolph Ziggler at Super ShowDown. Tonight, Kingston & Xavier Woods will team against Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn.

Roman Reigns is set to take on Shane McMahon in Saudi Arabia. Last night on Raw, McMahon, The Revival, and Drew McIntyre beat down Reigns. WWE.com is teasing that Reigns is looking for revenge for the attack.

Alexa Bliss hosts A Moment of Bliss with special guest SmackDown Woman’s Champion Bayley tonight. Plus, Lars Sullivan gives an exclusive interview. Sullivan will face The Lucha House Party (Kalisto, Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado) in a three-on-one handicap match on Friday.

WWE Champion Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods made their way to the ring. Kingston came out throwing pancakes. Kingston noted that life is full of surprises. He thought that after eleven years, he had seen and done it all. The fans broke into a “Kofi” chant. He talked about winning the WWE title at WrestleMania. That was an amazing moment for him, but more importantly, he wants to inspire people.

They aired a video of Kingston returning to Ghana. He got a hero’s welcome and got treated like a huge deal. This was a good video. Kingston was emotional when talking about returning to Ghana. He said it’s all about the look in those kid’s eyes. It’s a great feeling to tell a child like him that they can make it too. He was emotional when talking about seeing family again.

Dolph Ziggler interrupted and said this isn’t about Kingston. He said this is about why he’s the way he is. This is about Ziggler. They aired a video looking back on Ziggler’s career. Ziggler gave everything to the fans and his soul to WWE. Instead, It’s Kingston that’s the WWE Champion. He said he’s the hero of this story and it should be him.

Kingston pointed out that nobody thinks Ziggler’s didn’t have a great career. Kingston said that Ziggler forgot to add something to the video. He then showed footage from Dec 19, 2017, of Ziggler giving up the United States Championship and walking out. Kingston said it should have been about Ziggler. He said when things got tough, Ziggler walked away. Kingston never quit no matter how tough things got. The fans broke into another “Kofi” chant. Kingston promised to defeat Ziggler at Super ShowDown. Kingston said it would never be Ziggler.

Ziggler pointed to the screen. A video aired of Ziggler attacking Kingston two weeks ago. Ziggler said on Friday it will be him and walked off.

The New Day defeated Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

The New Day had the early advantage after Kingston took over with a dropkick on Zayn. The heels tried regrouping on the floor, but Kingston took out Owens with a dive. The heels isolated Woods on their side of the ring. Ziggler was backstage watching the match.

Back from the break, Owens placed Woods on the top turnbuckle. He fought back and nailed Owens with a missile dropkick. Kingston got the hot tag and ran wild. He hit the Boom Drop on Zayn and then set up for the Trouble In Paradise. Owens grabbed the leg, but Woods took out Owens. Kingston then nailed Trouble In Paradise on Zayn for the win.

After the match, Ziggler attacked Kingston from behind with a superkick. He then nailed a superkick on Woods.

Backstage, Shane McMahon discussed beating Roman Reigns down last night. McMahon promised to call out Reigns later.  

A Moment Of Bliss with SmackDown Woman’s Champion Bayley

Alexa Bliss came out to host A Moment of Bliss. She pointed out it was the first time A Moment of Bliss is on the blue brand. She said she’s from the superior brand, Raw. This didn’t get much of a reaction since it’s tough to keep the brands straight. Bliss took a sip of coffee and complained. She made a backstage worker get her a new coffee. She again buried the SmackDown brand.

Bayley wondered if Bliss would ask her any questions. Bliss talked about her career and success. She said the last time the title meant anything was when she was champion. Bayley noted that a lot has changed since that last time they saw each other. Bliss interrupted and said the coffee was ready. The backstage worker came out with the new coffee, but Bayley slapped it out of her hands. They went face-to-face.

Carmella walked out and wants a shot at Bayley too. She said Bliss couldn’t just come in from Raw and demand a title shot. Charlotte Flair interrupted. She said her good friend Shane McMahon made a match for later tonight between Flair, Carmella, and Bliss. The winner receives the next title shot against Bayley at Stomping Grounds.  

In the back, 24/7 Champion R-Truth approached Carmella. He can’t handle defending the title at all times. Truth said he’s been calling Shane McMahon but hasn’t heard back. McMahon then called Carmella’s phone. Truth told him that title is ruining his life and he needs his help. He apologized for interrupting Shane McMahon Appreciation night. McMahon told Truth his opponent was on his way to the ring. Carmella took the phone back, and Truth ran to the ring. 

Elias defeated R-Truth to win the 24/7 Championship in a Lumberjack match

The 24/7 rules are not in effect during the match, and no other lumberjacks can pin Truth. Elias threw Truth to the floor, and the Lumberjacks sent him back in. Elias rolled up Truth to win the title.

After the match, all the lumberjacks surrounded Elias and the commentators pointed out the 24/7 rules are back in effect. A brawl broke out, but Elias rolled to the floor.

R-Truth defeated Elias to win the 24/7 Championship

Truth chased Elias underneath the ring, while the brawling continued in the ring. Suddenly, the bell rang, and Truth emerged with the 24/7 title. Somehow, Truth pinned Elias under the ring without a referee.

In the back, Aleister Black noted last week he issued an open challenge. Nobody has accepted that challenge. Black promises to wait patiently for someone to be a man and pick a fight with him.

Shane McMahon came down to the ring with The Revival. On commentary, Tom Philips noted that The Revival count as one Wild Card. McMahon made Greg Hamilton introduce him as The Best In The World. There was a slight “CM Punk” chant. McMahon thanked Revival for the emotional support. He showed footage of the Roman Reigns beat down from last night again. He compared Reigns to a dog and promised to neuter the Big Dog at Super ShowDown.

Reigns’ music hit, and he made his way to the ring. The Revival ran out and met him on the ramp. Reigns quickly fought off The Revival and headed to the ring. McMahon waited for him in the ring. Suddenly, Drew McIntyre hit the Claymore Kick on Reigns before he could enter the ring. McMahon gave Reigns the spear and mocked him.

Alexa Bliss defeated Charlotte Flair and Carmella To Earn A SmackDown Woman’s Title Opportunity At Stomping Grounds

Bliss used a sunset flip bomb on Flair for a near fall. Carmella rolled up Flair for a two count, but Bliss rocked her with a forearm. Flair took out Bliss with a big boot, but Carmella caught Flair with a superkick.

Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville made their way to ringside. Carmella was distracted, and Bliss sent Carmella into the barricade.

Back from the break, Carmella and Flair fought on the top turnbuckle. Flair attempted a powerbomb, but Carmella hit a hurricanrana for a near fall. Carmella hit the broncobuster on Bliss. Bliss hit Twisted Bliss on Flair while she had the Figure Eight on Carmella for a near fall. Flair hit Natural Selection on Bliss, but Carmella broke up the pin.

Carmella rocked Flair with a superkick, but Rose and Deville tried to pull Carmella out of the ring. In the ring, Bliss caught Carmella with a DDT for the win.

Lars Sullivan Exclusive Interview

In the ring, Kayla Braxton introduced Lars Sullivan for his exclusive interview. They pushed that Braxton is nervous about conducting the interview. Sullivan has come to realize he’s no man. Sullivan said his whole life there’s one-word people use to describe him. He asked Braxton if she knew the word. He told her to say it, and she reluctantly said, “freak.”

Sullivan said his primary function is to show the world isn’t all rainbows and sunshine. It’s to show the world pain. Braxton asked about taking on Lucha House Party at Super ShowDown. Sullivan recited the Three Blind Mice poem, but it turned violent in the end. Braxton was disgusted and walked off.

Andrade (w/Zelina Vega) vs. Apollo Crews Didn’t Happen

Andrade jumped Crews before the bell rang and hit the Hammerlock DDT.

Intercontinental Champion Finn Bálor ran out and attacked Andrade, but Vega distracted Bálor. Andrade gained control and took out Bálor with the Hammerlock DDT as well.

They recapped Undertaker’s comments about Goldberg from Raw last night.  

Goldberg Responds To The Undertaker

They did the classic Goldberg entrance with the security walking him to the entrance backstage.

Goldberg made his way to the ring and got a massive reaction from the fans. They broke into a huge “Goldberg” chant. He thanked the fans but said it’s time to get down to business. Goldberg said he waited 20 years to know what it would be like to face Undertaker one-on-one in the ring.

Goldberg pointed out that Undertaker didn’t want the family man Goldberg. He wants the ass kicker Goldberg that went 173-0. Undertaker’s right. He doesn’t want the family man near Undertaker either, so he left his ass at home. The fans broke into another massive “Goldberg” chant.

Goldberg promised that Friday night Undertaker would get the ass-kicking Goldberg that he wants. Goldberg told the Undertaker “You’re Next To Rest In Peace.”

Undertaker’s gong hit and the lights went off. When they came back on, Undertaker was standing behind Goldberg, and they went face-to-face. The fans erupted for this and went crazy. The lights went off again and came back on. Undertaker was gone, and Goldberg stood alone in the ring.
