WWE SmackDown live results: Daniel Bryan appears on Miz TV


Tonight SmackDown takes place in Austin, Texas and continues the build to TLC.
The Miz hosts a special edition of Miz TV. His guest is the WWE Champion Daniel Bryan. This is the first time Bryan has appeared on the show since the promo where he called himself the “new” Daniel Bryan. Bryan will defend his title against AJ Styles at TLC on December 16.
Women’s Champion Becky Lynch defends against Charlotte Flair and Asuka in the first-ever women’s TLC match at the PPV. Lynch and Flair reignited their feud last week after their temporary truce. Asuka was added to the match after winning a battle royal. Tonight, the three come face-to-face-to-face for the official contract signing.
Jeff Hardy celebrated 20 years in WWE last week — but Samoa Joe interrupted Hardy’s moment. Tonight, Hardy goes one-on-one with Randy Orton.
Also announced for TLC, SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Bar defend against The Usos and New Day. Tonight, Cesaro takes on Xavier Woods and Jey Uso in a triple threat match.

Paige was in the ring for the women’s TLC match contract signing. Tables, ladders and chairs surrounded the ring. Paige then brought out the women. Becky Lynch’s championship is hanging above the ring. Lynch got another big reaction and “Becky” chants. Lynch noted Paige said they’re making history so it must be a Tuesday. Anytime The Man is in the ring she makes history. She promised to beat Asuka and Charlotte Flair at TLC.
Flair said she picked up the ball that Lynch dropped it. The fans booed her. Flair noted it took one kendo stick to beat down Ronda Rousey. It also took one punch to injure Lynch. The fans booed her again.
Asuka interrupted and noted Lynch beat Flair but she never beat Asuka. She said Lynch picked wrong and she could beat Rousey. Flair pointed out she beat Asuka and ended her streak. Lynch said they can’t beat Rousey and neither can beat her. Lynch signed the contract and left.
Asuka and Flair signed the contract. Asuka then challenged Flair to a match but Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville interrupted. Rose pointed out Flair lost at Survivor Series. Deville said Asuka winning the battle royal was a fluke. They both got the “What?” treatment. Paige was tired of hearing them talk. She announced Flair and Asuka vs. Rose and Deville next.
In Shane McMahon’s office, The Miz approached McMahon and wondered why Daniel Bryan’s his guest tonight. Miz was upset and felt McMahon’s not holding up his end of the team. McMahon told him to use his skills and get answers from the “new” Daniel Bryan.
Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville defeated Charlotte Flair & Asuka
Asuka was firmly in control and worked the arm. The heels took over and Rose scored a near fall. Flair got the tag and sent Rose and Deville to the floor. She hit a plancha on the heels to a big reaction.
Becky Lynch came back out and sat at ringside. After the commercial, the heels were back in control. They isolated Asuka on their side of the ring. Rose nailed Asuka with a knee for a near fall. Flair tagged back in and ran wild.
Rose pulled Asuka off the apron and nailed Flair. Asuka pulled Rose back off and jumped on the apron. Flair turned around and hit Asuka with a boot. Flair then rolled up Deville but Asuka nailed Flair and Deville scored the win.
Jon Stewart was shown sitting at ringside. He’ll be participating in Tribute The Troops this year.
Jey Uso (w/Jimmy Uso) defeated Xavier Woods (w/ Big. E & Kofi Kingston) and Cesaro (w/ Sheamus)
Woods and Uso worked together and sent Cesaro to the floor. They went back and forth trading pin attempts. Cesaro came back in but they sent him back out. After the commercial, Uso leaped off the top but Cesaro rocked him with an uppercut. During the commercial, Cesaro threw the pancakes on the floor and the fans booed.
Uso hit a dive onto Cesaro but walked into a tornado DDT off the apron from Woods. Uso went for a splash but Cesaro got the knees up and scored a near fall. Woods suddenly hit the elbow on Cesaro for two count.
In an awesome spot, Cesaro gave Uso the giant swing and Woods the airplane spin at the same time. Cesaro got Woods in the sharpshooter but Uso rocked him with superkick. Woods rolled him up for a near fall. Cesaro sent Woods to the floor and Uso hit the superkick again for the win.
In the back, Kayla Braxton interviewed Rusev and Lana. Rusev said he’s hungry but not for food. He’s hungry for the United States Championship. He promised to defeat Shinsuke Nakamura and feast on Rusev Day.
Another Lars Sullivan video package aired. Tom Phillips noted Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon are in a bidding war for him.
The Miz was in the ring for Miz TV. He started doing the intro but R Truth and Carmella interrupted. They yelled, “dance break” and started dancing. They then walked to the back. Miz finished his intro and introduced the “new” Daniel Bryan.
Miz noted Bryan looks the same but he isn’t. He eyes are open and he doesn’t listen to the people. He said winning is all the matters. Miz pointed out he was right about doing whatever it takes to win.
Bryan said he came to the realization that he doesn’t care about the people. He let his dreams take over. He said he has no intellectual peers to have real discussions with. Bryan tried quoting Alexander Hamilton but the fans gave him the “What?” treatment. He called them fickle and noted their doing something from 20 years ago.
Bryan pointed out he kicked AJ Styles in the groin for the the title but that was one person. He yelled that the people are destroying the earth. The fans booed. He went on a rant about how they’re destroying the planet and future generations.
Miz said for 8 years Bryan painted Miz the bad guy. Miz saw through Bryan. He asked Bryan again if he’s WWE Champion because he listened to Miz. Bryan said it doesn’t matter. He said the old Daniel Bryan is dead and The Yes Movement is dead. All that matters is he’s the WWE Champion.
AJ Styles ran out but Bryan pushed Miz into Styles. Styles finally got his hands on Bryan but Miz gave Styles the Skull Crushing Finale. Styles goes one-on-one with Miz later tonight.
Randy Orton defeated Jeff Hardy
Orton tried to back suplex Hardy on the announce table but Hardy reversed it. During the commercial break, Orton took over after dropping Hardy across the top rope. He slowed the pace down and applied a chin lock.
Hardy fought back and hit whisper in the wind for a near fall. Orton regained control after hitting the draping DDT. He set up for the RKO but Hardy blocked it. Hardy hit the twist of fate and went for the Swanton. Orton rolled to the floor to avoid the move.
Hardy slammed Orton onto the announce table and climbed to the top. Suddenly, Samoa Joe appeared on the big screen. He was at the bar and taunted Hardy. Hardy was distracted, which allowed Orton to sneak up and hit the RKO for the win. Joe then talked about drinking responsibly and mocked Hardy more after the match.
AJ Styles defeated The Miz
Before the match, Daniel Bryan was walking back stage. Kayla Braxton thought Bryan left the arena. He said he does everything with purpose. He’s heading to commentary.
Styles was firmly in control until Miz took over with a jaw breaker. On commentary, Byron Saxton asked Bryan what his daughter would think about his actions. Bryan snapped and said he hopes his daughter kicks a thousand guys in the groin and hopes she kicks Saxton in the groin too. Bryan was incredible on commentary.
Miz hit the neckbreaker for a near fall. He charged at Styles but caught a boot to the face. Styles went for the Phenomenal Forearm but Miz nailed him with a boot. Miz went for the Skull Crushing finale but Styles rolled him up for a near fall. Miz fired back with a DDT for a two count.
Styles sent Miz to the floor and hit a forearm. Bryan distracted Styles and Miz jumped him from behind. Miz hit the Skull Crushing finale for a close two count. Bryan tried to interfere but Styles kicked him off. Finish came when Styles made Miz tap to the Calf Crusher.
After the match, Bryan gave Styles a chop block from behind. He rammed Styles leg into the ring post several times. He continued to beat Styles and slammed his head into the announce table. Bryan then locked a heel hook on Styles. Bryan held Styles by the arm and stomped on his head.
Bryan grabbed the belt and made the ring announcer introduce him as the “WWE Champion The New Daniel Bryan.” Bryan got on the mic and called the people fickle. Bryan attacked Styles as he was getting up and locked on the heel hook again to end SmackDown.
