WWE Raw live results: Becky Lynch vs. Asuka rematch

As the road to WrestleMania continues, the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California will host a Raw Women’s Championship rematch tonight.

Becky Lynch will defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Asuka. Lynch retained against Asuka at the Royal Rumble, but then agreed to put her title on the line against her one more time after Asuka issued the challenge on Raw last week.

An eight-man tag match is also set for tonight. It will pit Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe & The Viking Raiders against Seth Rollins, Murphy & AOP.

MVP was a surprise entrant in the men’s Royal Rumble match and then — in what he later announced was his last match for WWE — was defeated by Rey Mysterio on Raw the next night. MVP is set to appear again tonight as he hosts a VIP Lounge segment with Drew McIntyre.

Show Recap:

Raw started with Seth Rollins, Murphy, and AOP in the ring. Rollins noted he’s here to lead everyone to the future. He then turned his attention to the six-man elimination tag team match last week.

They recapped the match, and Byron Saxton pointed out that the footage doesn’t include Rollins interfering. Rollins was furious that he didn’t win the triple threat match to earn a shot at the WWE title and he blamed Kevin Owens and his friends. 

Kevin Owens came out to a huge reaction. Before he could talk, Rollins pointed out that on two occasions, Owens’ partners went down with an injury. He noted that Owens couldn’t fight them on his own.

Owens said that Rollins talks too much. Owens doesn’t like to talk. He wants to fight.

Owens isn’t alone and brought out The Viking Raiders. 

Owens, The Raiders, Murphy, and AOP all brawled around ringside. Rollins stayed in the ring. 

Suddenly, Samoa Joe jumped Rollins from behind and locked on the Coquina Clutch. Owens nailed Murphy with a stunner, and the faces cleared the ring. 

Joe, Owens, and The Raiders posed in the ring. 

Becky Lynch’s music hit and she made her way down to the ring while Owens, Joe and The Raiders were still in the ring.

Asuka cut a promo in Japanese before the match. Asuka laughed and mocked Becky Lynch.

Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch defeated Asuka (w/Kairi Sane)

This was a good match, followed by a cool angle. The fans gave Lynch a huge reaction and broke into a loud “Becky” chant. 

Byron Saxton questioned the wisdom of Lynch defending against Asuka again. 

Asuka had the early advantage with a side headlock. Lynch recovered and rocked Asuka with a side tackle. Lynch ended up on the apron but fought off Asuka. 

Sane distracted Lynch and Asuka knocked Lynch off the apron with a hip attack. 

Back from the break, Asuka was firmly in control and worked over the arm. Lynch fired back with forearms, but Asuka took back over. 

Lynch recovered and made a fiery comeback. Asuka scored a near fall with an inside cradle. Lynch attempted the Dis-arm-her, but Asuka avoided and hit a modified sit-out powerbomb for a near fall. 

Asuka charged, but Lynch moved, and she fell to the floor. Lynch hit a sliding dropkick and leaped off the apron. Sane pushed Asuka out of the way, and Lynch rocked her with a forearm. 

Asuka attacked Lynch from behind to take over. Lynch jumped off the second turnbuckle, but Asuka hit the codebreaker for a two count. 

Lynch ended up on the apron and avoided the hip attack. Asuka was caught up in the ropes. Lynch locked on the Dis-arm-her with Asuka still in the ropes, but she had to break the hold.

Lynch hit an inverted DDT on the apron. Back from the break, Asuka hit a superplex for a near fall. She locked on an armbar, but Lynch countered into a sit-out powerbomb for a two count. 

Lynch missed a leg drop, and Asuka applied the Asuka Lock. Lynch fought out, and they battled in the middle of the ring.

They traded quick pin attempts. Asuka rolled up Lynch for a near fall. Lynch recovered and pinned Asuka to retain the title.

After the match, Shayna Baszler jumped Lynch from behind. She beat Lynch down and locked on the Kirifuda Clutch. 

Baszler threw Lynch to the ground. Baszler then bit Lynch in the back of her neck. 

Blood dripped out of Baszler’s mouth, which was covered in blood too. The visual of the blood dripping out of Baszler’s mouth was awesome and sick looking. 

Lynch screamed in pain and required medical attention. She freaked out but then tried saying she was okay. 

The Street Profits defeated 24/7 Champion Mojo Rawley & Riddick Moss 

Before the match, The Street Profits mocked Rawley for hiding behind Moss. They noted Rawley’s famous for riding Rob Gronkowski’s coattails.

The Street Profits completely dominated the match. Angelo Dawkins hit a spinebuster on Moss, and Montez Ford hit the frog splash for the win. 

Riddick Moss defeated Mojo Rawley To Win The 24/7 Championship

After the match, Rawley checked on Moss. Suddenly, Moss used an inside cradle on Rawley to win the 24/7 title. Moss ran out into the crowd and celebrated. 

In the back, medical staff tried to convince Becky Lynch to get in an ambulance and go to a local medical facility. She refused to go and pulled out the Ambulance driver. She jumped in the front seat and drove off. 

VIP Lounge With Guest Drew McIntyre

The fans gave MVP a big reaction and broke into a loud “MVP” chant. 

MVP talked a bit about his return and being better than the people. 

MVP brought out his guest Drew McIntyre. McIntyre’s name wasn’t on the list, but he pushed over the bouncer. McIntyre and MVP shook hands and hugged. 

MVP praised McIntrye and talked about his WrestleMania match. McIntyre noted MVP said the magic word. Every time anyone says WrestleMania, he has to point at the WrestleMania sign.

The fans love McIntyre and broke into a “Drew” chant. 

MVP tried to stir up trouble and noted some people think McIntyre’s not ready to be WWE Champion. McIntrye knows MVP’s up to something and wants to know the catch. He told McIntyre not to worry about the interviews and all that stuff. He needs to focus on his WrestleMania match. MVP then pointed out that he’s now retired.

McIntrye figured it out, and noted MVP wants to be his business partner. McIntyre said he could be his advocate like Paul Heyman is for Brock Lesnar. McIntrye pointed out that he doesn’t need someone to speak for him. 

MVP got in McIntyre’s face and demanded him not to turn away. McIntrye gave MVP a headbutt and hit the Claymore kick. 

They recapped Randy Orton attacking Edge the night after the Royal Rumble.

Angel Garza (w/Zelina Vega) defeated Cedric Alexander 

Before the match, Vega called Garza a man’s man. They recapped Garza attacking Humberto Carillo and Rey Mysterio last week. 

Garza said it’s true he’s a man’s man, but he’s also a ladies man because no woman can resist him. 

Carillo ran out and jumped Garza. They brawled around ringside. The fans broke into a “Let Them Fight” chant. Officials dragged Carillo away. 

Alexander had the early advantage. He hit a forearm in the corner and followed up with a dropkick to the back of the neck. Alexander attempted a sliding dropkick to the floor, but Garza caught him. 

Garza dropped Alexander on the floor and considered pulling up the ring mats. Alexander recovered and sent Garza into the steps. 

The finish came when Alexander attempted a cross body, but Garza hit a dropkick. Garza then hit the Wing Clipper for the win.

They recapped the Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley angle from last week.

Charly Caruso interviewed NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley. Ripley’s doesn’t care that Flair hasn’t responded to her yet. 

Sarah Logan interrupted and was furious that Ripley showed up on Raw. Ripley didn’t care and mocked Logan. 

They announced SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley vs. Carmella for Friday night on SmackDown. 

In the back, Sarah Scribber tried to interview Bobby Lashley. Lana noted Ricochet is a thief and stole Lashley’s dream. She was distraught, but Lashley seemed annoyed. 

Lashley noted he’s not some skinny kid with big dreams. Lashley is going to do Brock Lesnar a favor and destroy Ricochet.

Sarah Logan made her way down to the ring and demanded Rhea Ripley face her.

NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley defeated Sarah Logan 

Charlotte Flair watched the match from the ramp.

Ripley rocked Logan with clotheslines and a dropkick. Ripley looked over at Flair several times and then hit the Rip Tide for the win in a quick match. 

After the match, Ripley wanted to know Flair’s answer to her challenge. She noted Flair even showed up to NXT but gave no answer. 

Flair pointed out that after NXT: Portland Ripley might not even be the champion. Flair still didn’t answer Ripley’s challenge.

The announced WrestleMania 37 taking place in Los Angeles in 2021.

They recapped Ricochet defeating Seth Rollins and Bobbly Lashley in the triple threat match last week to earn a WWE Championship opportunity at Super Showdown. 

Before the match, Charly Caruso interviewed Ricochet behind the entrance. He heard Lashley’s comments from earlier. He’s not afraid and promised to make it to Super Showdown even if that means he has to crawl to the ring. The fans broke into a loud “Rusev Day” chant. 

Ricochet defeated Bobby Lashley (w/Lana)

Lashley had the early advantage. Ricochet fired back and hit a springboard dropkick. He followed up with a suicide dive and hit a dive to the floor on the other side of the ring. 

Back from the break, Lashley was firmly in control. Ricochet fought back and hit a moonsault off the ring steps. Lashley threw Ricochet face-first into the ring post.

Lashley whipped Ricochet into the barricade. He followed up with a suplex for a near fall. 

Ricochet fought back and hit an enziguri. Ricochet followed up with a springboard crossbody and a standing shooting star press for a near fall. Ricochet rocked Lashley with a knee, but Lashley recovered. 

Lashley fought back and hit a massive spine buster for a very close two count. Lashley attempted a back superplex, but Ricochet landed on his feet. 

Ricochet fired back and rocked Lashley with a kick. Ricochet then hit the 630 Splash for the win. 

The offered a medical update on Becky Lynch’s condition. Tom Philips noted that Lynch went to a medical facility but is now on her way back. 

Randy Orton Promo

Randy Orton came down to the ring to explain his reason for attacking Edge two weeks ago. He noted he owned everyone an explanation. 

Suddenly, Matt Hardy’s music hit and he made his way down to the ring. The fans erupted into a “Delete” chant. Hardy said he wants to know why Orton attacked Edge.

Hardy pointed out the history between himself and Edge. The fans broke into a “Lita” chant. There was a time when nobody hated Edge more than he did. Before that, they were friends that traveled the road with Christian and Jeff Hardy. 

Hardy talked about the No Mercy 1999 ladder match, and the fans broke into a “TLC” chant. Hardy said they invented the TLC match, and the fans cheered. 

Hardy’s hate for Edge went away when Edge had to retire. They both love the WWE Universe, and Hardy can’t imagine his career taken away from him when he isn’t ready. After Edge retired, Hardy and Edge became friends again. After nine years, Edge made his return, and Orton took it away. 

Hardy wants to know what’s wrong with Orton. Orton attempted the RKO, but Hardy avoided. They fought for a few minutes, but then Orton hit the RKO.

Orton then gave Hardy a con-chair-to. The fans hated Orton and booed as he posed on the stage. 

They recapped Ruby Riott returning last week and attacking Liv Morgan. 

Sarah Schriber interviewed Riott in the back. She returned to teach Morgan that Riott strikes when she wants to. Morgan is a follower, and Riott had to look after her before. 

Aleister Black defeated Akira Tozawa 

Black rocked Tozawa with a back elbow. Tozawa fought back and hit a second turnbuckle dropkick. Black recovered and hit a pop-up knee. Black then hit Black Mass for the win in a quick match. 

After the match, Black is starting to feel like an animal in a cage. However, it’s not that he’s trapped in a cage with them. They’re trapped in the cage with him.

In the back, Becky Lynch returned to the arena in the ambulance.

Lynch made her way to the ring with the back of her neck taped up. She noted the doctors gave her something to deal with the pain and wants to know where Shayna Baszler is. She said she doesn’t care how tough she is or who she hangs out with. Lynch has run through them all. 

Lynch noted Baszler better find Lynch before she finds her. 

They announced the Tawaiq Cup gauntlet match for Super Showdown. The graphic included AJ Styles, R Truth, Rusev, Erick Rowan, Bobby Lashley, and Andrade. 

Seth Rollins, Murphy & The AOP defeated Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe & The Viking Raiders 

Before the match, Rollins tried to speak, but the faces didn’t want to hear it, and a brawl broke out between all eight competitors. 

The faces were firmly in control. They isolated Murphy on their side of the ring and cut him off from his partners. Joe unloaded on Murphy and rocked him with a kick. Owens hit an elbow off the second turnbuckle for a two count. 

Erik then slammed Ivar onto Murphy for a near fall. Akam caught Erik with a spine buster to take over. The heels took over and isolated Erik on their side of the ring. 

Ivar got the hot tag and ran wild on Murphy. Ivar hit a crossbody.

Ivar avoided a kick with a cartwheel and hit a clothesline. 

Back from the break, the heels were firmly in control. They isolated Owens and kept him near their corner. Owens fought back and gave Murphy a fall away slam into the barricade on the floor. 

The heels took back over. Murphy slowed the pace down and applied a chin lock on Owens. Owens made a comeback. He knocked Rollins off the apron and hit a DDT on Murphy. Joe got the hot tag and ran wild. 

Joe attempted a suicide dive, but the AOP jumped up on the apron. The Viking Raiders knocked the AOP off the apron. Joe and the Raiders then hit a triple suicide dive onto the heels to a massive pop from the fans. 

Everyone started hitting a series of big moves. Owens then hit a Swanton Bomb off the top turnbuckle to the floor, wiping out everyone. 

In the ring, Joe applied the Coquina clutch on Murphy. Murphy tapped, but AOP distracted the referee.

Rollins then hit the stomp on Joe, and Murphy pinned Joe for the win.
