WWE Main Event results: Hurt Business vs. Apollo Crews & Commander Azeez

This week’s WWE Main Event was taped at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan before Monday’s Raw.
Tommaso Ciampa defeated T-Bar (6:28)
Ciampa notched another win against T-Bar in a decent contest.
These two always work pretty well together, but Ciampa always looks like the more accomplished in-ring worker. He must feel totally in limbo at the moment as they continue to bounce him around between shows.
Ciampa worked over his left knee as they booked him as a big guy who is difficult to topple. He sold it pretty well and showed how much he has improved in that area over the last year or so.
Ciampa built to the Fairytale Ending, but T-Bar cut him off. He went for his choke slam, but Ciampa rolled through and scored the victory. With the win, Ciampa remains undefeated on Main Event and has gone 4-0 against T-Bar thus far.
Apollo Crews & Commander Azeez defeated The Hurt Business (5:29)
They did well to protect Azeez and delivered a solid tag bout in the time they were given. The Hurt Business continue to be far too good to be jobbed out of Main Event and yet, here we are. The pair have three wins to their name in all of 2022.
Crews and Azeez have been due a win for a while. This was their first tag team win since December of last year.
The match started off hot and then slowed down when Azeez got in. The match built to a hot tag for Alexander and Crews. Alexander hit the Michinoku Driver, but Azeez broke up the count as everyone got into the ring.
Of all things, it was an eye gouge that led to the finish. Crews raked Alexander’s eyes which allowed him to nail him with the samoan drop for the win.
Final Thoughts:
Two perfectly acceptable matches this week with neither outstaying their welcome. T-Bar has improved a lot. The likes of Ciampa, Alexander, and Benjamin must be wondering what they have to do to get some proper TV time on Raw or SmackDown.
