The Big Takeaways:

Mansoor looked good as he made his Main Event debut with a win over Drew Gulak while they continued to push Elias and Jaxson Ryker as a dominant tag team with a win over Humberto Carrillo and Akira Tozawa.

Show Recap:

Mansoor defeated Drew Gulak (5:02)

More of a 205 Live match than something that you would usually see on Main Event, Mansoor took on Gulak, marking his debut with an impressive win.

If you have never seen Mansoor work, he is a smooth in-ring operator with plenty in his locker. He is lean and handsome: no doubt the reason that WWE have their eye on him as a future star to help them promote the product for the Indian market.

It was another embarrassing defeat, though, for Gulak who is winless since November. Last week, he was all but squashed by T-Bar and here, he got very little of his own stuff in at all.

Mansoor did a couple of notable moves including a standing moonsault, but he finished with a really beautiful slingshot neckbreaker to get the win. Hopefully, there will be more to come from him as they cautiously work him in.

Jaxson Ryker & Elias defeated Humberto Carrillo & Akira Tozawa (9:01)

This was nine minutes of action where two really good workers ran all over for two more awkward wrestlers who are probably carrying way more muscle than they need.

Tozawa was the star here as he and Carrillo carried the match, allowing them to try to push Ryker as an uncompromising, aggressive heel with plenty of power moves in his armory.

It was Ryker that had to break up a pin in the last few minutes as Carrillo was running wild with the hot tag, but they made sure that it was Ryker who got the pinfall over Tozawa at the end.

Tozawa came off the top rope with a missile dropkick and looked to be heating up when he ran straight into Ryker who nailed him with his as-yet-unnamed spinning side slam for the victory.

Final Thoughts:

It was good to see Mansoor get a debut here. This show is at its best when used as both a training ground for fresh talent and a place to try out some new ideas. They clearly want to go with Ryker and Elias, but aren’t prepared to go all the way just yet for whatever reason. It might be another project that they give up on before too long.
