WWE Lille, France, live results: Reigns teams with Rollins

Submitted by reader Norbert Feuillan

– French WWE announcers Christophe Agius and Philippe Chereau warmed up the crowd before the show started. This is the only WWE house show in France for 2017 so pretty much everybody was excited for this.

– Raw Tag Team Champions The Hardys defeated Enzo Amore & Big Cass and Cesaro & Sheamus to retain their titles

The Hardys got one of the biggest pops of the night. Matt was great at working the crowd all match. Cesaro and Sheamus came across as a bit unmotivated. Enzo and Cass were Enzo and Cass.

This was a decent opener that got the crowd red hot for the finish. The Hardys hit a Twist of Fate and a Swanton Bomb on Cesaro and Jeff pinned him. There were a few “Delete” chants, but most fans were obviously not aware of what they meant.

– Kalisto defeated Curt Hawkins

Hawkins cut a short promo. People booed and started “What?” chants. There were loud “lucha” chants for Kalisto. Hawkins seemed very motivated and delivered a real good spinebuster and a Dynamite Kid-esque back suplex. The match was pretty basic, with Kalisto getting the win after hitting Salida Del Sol.

– Golden Truth & Apollo Crews defeated Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel & Titus O’Neil

No one was over at all during their entrances. The crowd was dead at the beginning of the match. There was some comedy and Crews showed his athleticism. Goldust scored the fall on Axel after hitting the Final Cut. It was better than expected but still very unmemorable.

– Sasha Banks & Dana Brooke defeated Nia Jax & Alicia Fox

Only Banks got a reaction for her entrance. Jax and Banks worked well together when they were in the ring and Jax finally garnered heel heat with her ring work. Brooke and Fox were just there. Banks tapped out Fox with the Banks Statement.

– Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose defeated The Miz (w/ Maryse) to retain his title

The Miz was the only really over heel so far. Miz and Maryse cut a promo that electrified the crowd for the whole match. Maryse was cheered at first, but a few insults in French got the crowd to boo her. Ambrose interrupted and the crowd was very loud.

They had a really fun “less is more” bout. Maryse was sent backstage by the ref, leading to Ambrose hitting Dirty Deeds and retaining.

– Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss defeated Bayley to retain her title

The crowd was split here, with many vocal males behind Bliss. The match was good. Bliss cheated her way over with a school boy where she had her feet on the ropes. She attempted to beat down Bayley after, but Bayley countered to make the fans happy.

– Finn Balor defeated Karl Anderson (w/ Luke Gallows)

Plans for the card were changed by Braun Strowman’s injury. Anderson and Gallows got little reaction. The reaction for Balor was disappointing as well. His entrance was well received, but most of us overrated his popularity here.

They had a decent match, though it was nothing special. Balor hit the Coup de Grace for the win. Both the face and the heels, involved in the same match, were doing the Too Sweet hand sign.

– Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins defeated Bray Wyatt & Samoa Joe

Wyatt was out first and got a huge babyface pop. But after Joe entered, Rollins came out and the crowd blew the roof off. He was the most over babyface by far. Reigns got booed out of the building and the feeling for his entrance was unforgettable. The guy felt like a real big star. Reigns was booed all match except for interactions with Rollins.

The match was very good and came across as a legit main event, mostly due to the emotions generated by Rollins and Reigns. Rollins was the best in-ring worker of the night, again, by far. Wyatt took the pinfall after Reigns speared him.
