Reports submitted by readers Ryan McCoy and Erik Yonker
– Heath Slater, Rhyno & Apollo Crews (w/ Titus O’Neil) defeated Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson & Curt Hawkins
Slater got a huge reaction given that he’s from West Virginia and the show was taking place on his birthday. The crowd reacted positively to his partners as well. After the heels got the heat on Crews, Slater got a hot tag and ended up hitting an impaler DDT on Hawkins to win.
– Goldust defeated R-Truth
Goldust won in less than a minute by pinning Truth with his feet on the ropes. The younger fans were cheering for Truth and the older ones were cheering for Goldust.
– Akira Tozawa defeated Brian Kendrick
They had a pretty good match with a lot of back and forth. Tozawa’s chants were really over and he won after a top rope senton.
– Finn Balor defeated Elias Samson
Samson did his shtick before the match and ran down West Virginia until Balor interrupted him. Balor was one of the most over people on the show. From there, they had a decent match with Samson getting the heat and Balor making a comeback. He won with the Coup de Grace.
– Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose defeated Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas
This was the best technical match of the night. Axel and Dallas do very well as heels and the crowd reacted positively to the faces. For the finish, Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds on Dallas and Rollins took out Axel with a dive.
– Mickie James & Dana Brooke defeated Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss & Nia Jax
Bliss received a huge pop and was very popular with the crowd. James was over as well. She pinned Bliss after a spinning roundhouse kick.
– Raw Tag Team Champions Cesaro & Sheamus defeated The Hardys to retain their titles
The Hardys got the second biggest pop of the night. The matchup was kind of stale with it being done so often, but it was still very good. Cesaro got the pin with an inside cradle.
– John Cena defeated Bray Wyatt
Cena received the biggest pop of the night, with him getting some dueling chants. Wyatt stalled by going to the outside a few times. Cena grabbed a mic and started singing “Country Roads” by John Denver (to a mixed reaction) until Wyatt attacked him from behind.
There was a ref bump and Wyatt hit a low blow, but it only got a two count. Wyatt grabbed a chair and went to hit Cena with it, but he missed and Cena won with the Attitude Adjustment.
