Report: WWE & LA Knight ‘far apart on money’ in contract talks

LA Knight may not be close to finalizing a new contract with WWE.
Fightful reported on Monday that, while Knight and WWE have been in talks for an extension, “the two sides were far apart on money as of now.” The report states that no deal has been agreed to and doesn’t appear imminent, but WWE and Knight will keep negotiating.
Knight has been offered a new five-year contract by WWE. Fightful notes that Knight’s current deal still has more than a year and a half left, running well into 2025.
PWInsider first reported last Thursday that WWE and Knight were in talks over a new deal, with the contract either in the process of being finalized or having already been signed.
Knight has become one of the biggest fan favorites in WWE in recent months. Dave Meltzer reports that Knight is expected to receive a “megapush” going forward given that the ratings for his segments and his merchandise sales have both been strong.
Knight has gotten victories at back-to-back PPVs and was recently endorsed by John Cena.
Knight defeated Austin Theory on SmackDown last week. This Friday’s episode of the show is set to feature Knight vs. The Miz in a rematch from Payback.
