Report: Matt Camp released by WWE

  • Ian Carey

Matt Camp has reportedly been released by WWE.

Camp was hired by the company in September 2019 and has served as host of shows such as The Bump, Raw Talk, and Talking Smack. He was also a regular on WWE Kickoff shows before premium live events.

According to a report from PWInsider, Camp’s release came “as something of a shock” to those they spoke with. WWE has not made any public or internal comments on the matter, nor has an explanation for his release been given.

Fightful is reporting that Camp was released from the company last week.

Prior to signing with WWE, Camp was an announcer for Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore promotion. He was also a fantasy football analyst for Bleacher Report and frequently appeared on Busted Open Radio.

WWE hired Camp around the same time they brought in McKenzie Mitchell as a backstage interviewer. WWE released Mitchell back in December as well.
