Report: Beth Phoenix no longer under contract with WWE

It appears that WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix is no longer signed to the company.

PWInsider reported on Friday that Phoenix is no longer under contract with WWE. Earlier this week, WrestleTalk published an article stating that Phoenix’s profile had been removed from the active roster page on WWE’s website. She is listed in the alumni and Hall of Fame sections.

Phoenix hasn’t wrestled since February 2023 and has only had occasional matches since coming out of retirement. She was a commentator for NXT from 2019-2021.

After retiring in 2012, Phoenix returned to the ring for a cameo in the 2018 women’s Royal Rumble. She’s had five televised matches since then. Phoenix teamed with her husband Adam Copeland in mixed tag team bouts at Royal Rumble 2022 and Elimination Chamber 2023.

Copeland (WWE legend Edge) is now with AEW but is currently out of action after fracturing his leg this May. After his debut for the promotion last year, Copeland was asked if we could see him and Phoenix work together again in AEW.

“I mean, any time I get to be close to Beth obviously I’m gonna be super excited about that. I don’t know about the possibilities of that in the foreseeable [future], but I love being around her obviously,” he responded. “And we’ve had a blast when we did get to work together. But where she will be instrumental without everyone knowing it is she’s my sounding board. So if you’ve seen me do something, or you see something that you think worked, it was always bounced off Beth and then she always gives me better ideas back. It’s kind of amazing to be married to a Hall of Famer, it’s pretty cool… who can suplex you.”

Phoenix voices the opening of her husband’s AEW theme music. She was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017.
