Pat McAfee explains recent WWE absence: ‘Was getting pretty exhausted’

Pat McAfee has explained his absence.
During the final minutes of Monday’s Pat McAfee show, the Raw commentator revealed why he has been gone from the show’s commentary booth for the last three weeks: he needed some time to recharge.
“Continuing to just like kinda catch up on life as a whole. Post-Money in the Bank, pre-Night of Champions…was getting pretty exhausted there. So shout out to everybody at WWE for looking out for me too. Very, very thankful,” he explained.
McAfee has been absent from the show since June 9, when Wade Barrett replaced him. For the last two weeks, Corey Graves has been McAfee’s replacement. Although WWE didn’t explain why McAfee was absent on this week’s show, Michael Cole did mention his name during the opening match between Penta and Bron Breakker.
Following the events of WrestleMania 41, Gunther got into a confrontation with McAfee after Gunther decided to take out his frustrations on both Raw commentators following his loss to Jey Uso at WrestleMania. The Ring General ended up squaring off against McAfee at Backlash, with Gunther emerging victorious.
