Paige leaving WWE, will ‘most certainly’ be in the ring again

Paige is leaving WWE and looks to have her sights set on an in-ring return.
In a statement posted to her Twitter account on Friday, the 29-year-old Paige (real name Saraya-Jade Bevis) announced that she’ll be departing WWE on July 7. Paige thanked WWE and wrote that she appreciates the opportunities she was given while with the company.
Paige, who hasn’t wrestled since 2017, noted in her statement that the day “will most certainly come” when she’s in the ring again. It was revealed in January 2018 that WWE had medically disqualified Paige from in-ring competition due to issues with her neck.
Paige’s full statement is available below:
Paige here!
July 7th will be the last day with WWE. I’m so thankful and I appreciate the opportunities that the company has given me. I will always be appreciative of the company that took in an 18 year old British pale emo girl that didn’t look like your average diva, giving me the chance of a lifetime and making me feel like a superstar. I know after my neck injury taking me out of in ring status, it was pretty hard to keep me around for as long as you did and for that I’m thankful too.
Thank you to the WWE Universe. You guys are the most passionate group of fans I’ve ever seen. Hope you continue to stay on this journey with me.
I think the toughest part weirdly enough is having to let the Paige name go! But Saraya is helluva name. Kudos to my mum for that one.
FYI I’m not saying I’ll never be in the ring. That day will most certainly come again! Wherever the return maybe.
Thank you WWE, Saraya
Paige is a two-time WWE Divas Champion and a one-time NXT Women’s Champion. After being medically disqualified from competing in the ring, she spent time in an on-screen role as the general manager of SmackDown.
The movie “Fighting with My Family,” based on a documentary about Paige and her family, was released in 2019. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions and WWE were involved in the making of the film.
