Odyssey Jones issues statement, taking legal action against accuser

Odyssey Jones released a statement on Saturday addressing the allegations which led to his WWE release.

In September 2024, Jones was abruptly removed from WWE programming shortly after he started an angle with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. Fightful would later report that this was due to domestic violence allegations against Jones, although no arrest was ever made and no criminal charges were filed.

Jones addressed the allegations in a video he posted to social media today and revealed he is taking legal action against his accuser.

“I’m making this video to address the false allegations. These false claims are coming from a party that I used to priorly engage with. And I apologize for taking so long addressing these false claims, but I had to patiently wait to get an injunction set in place to protect my family, my friends, and myself.”

“I’m currently taking legal action against said party, so I can’t speak too much more on it, but there will be more information to come. With that being said, I would like to thank the WWE for the amazing opportunity they’ve given me in my life. I thank you so much for bringing me on. I’d like to thank all the coaches that I’ve worked with over the years for helping me work on my craft and grow my craft and grow as a person.”

Jones also said he’s looking to take bookings in 2025.

“With all that being said, the journey continues. I’m ready to get back to doing what I love to do. I’m accepting bookings in 2025, and I thank you all for your support and for your time.”

Jones’ full statement is available below.

Before joining WWE, Jones was an offensive guard for the University of Syracuse football team. He graduated from the school in 2016. He attended a WWE tryout in 2018 and was signed a year later. Jones made his in-ring debut in November 2019, losing to Dexter Lumis on a series of NXT house shows. He was drafted to the main roster in 2024 but wrestled primarily in dark matches and at live events before his angle with Kingston and Woods began developing that summer.
