NXT UK TV taping spoilers: New number one contender decided

NXT UK was at the Braehead Arena in Glasgow, Scotland on Saturday to close out two straight nights of television tapings.
Dark match —
– Kenny Williams defeated BT Gunn
A long overdue debut on the brand for Gunn — albeit in dark match form. This was a good showing for both. They have much more to show but gave as good as they were offered here. Both were really over with the local crowd.
NXT UK TV taping spoilers —
– WALTER, Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel came out for a promo and called themselves “Imperium.” British Strong Style (Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate & Trent Seven) attacked them, which led to a six-man tag match later on.
– Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) defeated Team White Wolf (A-Kid & Carlos Romo)
– Kassius Ohno defeated Jack Gallagher
They had a very good technical match. It was longer than the usual NXT UK matches, with Ohno picking up the win with his big knockout elbow. The fans were trying to get behind “Jacky boy” throughout, but he succumbed to the knockout blow.
– NXT UK Women’s Champion Toni Storm defeated Nina Samuels to retain her title
This was a good match as well. Storm picked up the win with the Storm Driver. The crowd was solidly behind her for this one.
– Wild Boar & Primate defeated Saxon Huxley & Tyson T-Bone
There were a few “Jesus” chants aimed at Huxley. This was a good tag match and a well deserved win for Boar & Primate after their recent TV losses.
– Imperium (WWE United Kingdom Champion WALTER, Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel) defeated British Strong Style (Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate & Trent Seven)
Match of the night no doubt. All six gave a great showing — in the ring it couldn’t be touched all night and the crowd was red hot for all of the action. Seven had a few chants going for his hair alone.
WALTER dominated whenever he was involved, and Bate continued to shine whenever he made the hot tag. The finish came when Alexander Wolfe made his NXT UK debut and aligned himself with Imperium/WWE’s version of Ringkampf for the win.
– Kay Lee Ray defeated Kasey Owens
Good ovation for both given they are very familiar with the local scene. Kay Lee Ray looks to be getting pushed really hard and may be in line for a title shot in the future.
– Noam Dar defeated Mark Andrews
Great match — some reviews scored this tied for best of the night with the six-man tag from earlier.
This had similar stellar, but safer, action compared to Dar and Andrews’ bout in Coventry a few months ago. Dar picked up the win to give the home crowd a cheer. They played off the previous injury that plagued their last match. Hopefully more to come out of this.
– NXT UK Tag Team Champions Grizzled Young Veterans had a promo. They said they were going to have to defend their titles at the upcoming Download Festival.
– Jazzy Gabert & Jinny defeated Xia Brookside & Isla Dawn
Good pops again for the local Isla Dawn and continuing-to-improve Brookside. Jinny & Gabert picked up the win in a very decent tag match.
– Ilja Dragunov defeated Joseph Conners
– Travis Banks defeated Jordan Devlin, Joe Coffey, and Dave Mastiff in a fatal four-way match to become the number one contender to the WWE United Kingdom Championship
Great fatal four-way action with all involved right up to the finish. The crowd was behind Coffey with him being local, but they assumed Devlin would win to set up the big WALTER vs. Devlin match.
The finish for Banks seemed to come out of nowhere, but it was well-deserved given the outing all four competitors gave to close out a weekend of excellent action.
