The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan set for WWE SummerSlam

Miz has done an about-face, officially accepting Daniel Bryan’s challenge to a match at SummerSlam.
He confirmed that he would be facing Bryan in a WWE.com exclusive video that was also posted on social media. He said after a week of negotiations with his agents and SmackDown GM Paige, he would “give him the gift of relevancy” by officially accepting his challenge that was issued last week on SmackDown.
The two have been feuding off and on over the last couple of years, primarily after the brand split when Bryan became General Manager of SmackDown. Miz cut what is now an infamous promo on Bryan during an episode of Talking Smack that caused Bryan to walk off the set. Once Daniel Bryan was cleared to return to action, he had an interest in settling his score with Miz. However, in recent months he has been distracted with feuds against the likes of Big Cass and the Bludgeon Brothers.
Their feud has heated up in recent weeks, with The Miz giving an “eulogy” to Team Hell No after they lost their tag team title match at Extreme Rules. The Miz assaulted Daniel Bryan two weeks ago on SmackDown after throwing what was supposed to be Miz’s infant daughter at Bryan. Right as Bryan realized it was a doll, Miz jumped him and laid him out.
SummerSlam will take place on August 19 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
