Mickie James returning on WWE Raw, updated lineup

After more than a year out of action, Mickie James is making her return to WWE television.

WWE has announced that James will return to TV on tonight’s episode of Raw:

The former WWE Women’s Champion and Divas Champion has been gone for more than a year. What exactly does Mickie have in store for the WWE Universe?

James suffered a torn ACL during a match against Carmella at a house show in June 2019. She underwent surgery to repair the injury last July. While injured, James made some appearances on commentary for Main Event.

Bianca Belair vs. Zelina Vega has also been announced for tonight’s Raw, along with a contract signing with Dominik Mysterio and Seth Rollins. WWE is hyping that Dominik will sign both his WWE contract and the contract for his SummerSlam match against Rollins.

There was an angle shot on Twitch over the weekend where Belair attacked Vega while she was streaming. On last week’s Raw, Belair blamed Vega for being the one to poison Montez Ford. The Street Profits are defending their Raw Tag Team titles against Andrade & Angel Garza at SummerSlam.

Asuka vs. Bayley, Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton, the continuation of Raw Underground, and the fallout from RETRIBUTION wreaking havoc on SmackDown are also set for tonight. If Asuka wins, she’ll challenge Sasha Banks for the Raw Women’s Championship at SummerSlam. The pay-per-view is taking place on Sunday, August 23.
