Melina reportedly returning to WWE

A former Women’s Champion could soon be returning to WWE.
PWInsider reported on Friday that Melina (real name Melina Perez) has come to terms for a return to WWE. The report stated that they’ve been told by multiple sources that Melina will be returning to WWE programming within the next week.
“There had been interest in Perez earlier this year as the company attempted to book her for the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble, but at the time, she was under an agreement with the NWA. That agreement has since expired,” PWInsider wrote.
In a Facebook post last night, Melina denied that she’s signed with WWE but said that doesn’t mean it isn’t a possibility.
“I don’t know what my future will hold but I know 2020 has taken so much from me. From all of us. Going back home to the WWE would feel like everything I’ve gone through was for this very moment. But we don’t know what’s going to happen,” Melina wrote.
“There’s so much more than just give someone a contract. I lost my father last month, am I emotionally ready? I’m 41, am I physically capable? Is there a story available? Simply talking to the wwe makes my heart happy. I am grateful for my time with them. One day I’ll come home but when the time is right. So if it doesn’t happen now, Im sorry you thought I was returning. If it does happen… well these sites ruined a great surprise. You should be upset that they cheated you of that moment if it happens.”
Melina was last part of the WWE roster in 2011. She made an appearance for the company at Raw Reunion in July 2019. Last November, she made her NWA debut on an episode of NWA Power.
