Matt Hardy details ‘friendly visit’ with WWE during SummerSlam week

On his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy detailed the visit that he and his brother Jeff had with WWE during SummerSlam week.

It was initially reported that The Hardys met with WWE officials on August 2 while both sides were in Cleveland. Later, it was clarified that the meeting was for The Hardys to film content for upcoming WWE documentaries. Matt confirmed on his podcast that he and Jeff recorded some stuff for WWE digital that will probably be coming out over the next 3-5 months.

“As soon as we got to Cleveland, we were met by a WWE driver who picked us up [and] took us to the WWE TV hotel,” Matt said. “And we recorded some media, some digital for those guys, which is going to air on some of their platforms coming up in the future. It was very cool, and it was very cool to interact with a lot of the guys.”

Matt said he would describe the interaction as a “friendly visit.” He was really happy that Jeff got to be there and show people where he’s at in life right now.

“I like to describe it as a friendly visit. It was something where we spoke to people in production and they said they would like to do more of this going forward. And I said we would love to as well,” Matt said. “It was great. We had a great time there. We left on great terms and everything was cool. We told them we would talk to them in the future and we’ll do something a little bit later down the road.”

The Hardys were in Cleveland for an appearance at the Destination WrestleCon convention during SummerSlam week. Matt also had a match for Game Changer Wrestling against Nick Gage.

Though they’ve returned to TNA Wrestling after departing AEW, Matt & Jeff are both still free agents. Matt reiterated on his podcast that he thinks WWE would be the best place for The Hardys to finish their careers.
