Marina Shafir, Jessamyn Duke to make NXT in-ring debut this week

Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke will be making their pro wrestling debuts this week.

The two Four Horsewomen of MMA members will be wrestling at NXT’s house show in Largo, Florida on Thursday. They are friends and training partners of both Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, who have been making waves in WWE and NXT, respectively. Shafir was first to make the announcement on her Twitter, while Duke followed shortly after.

Both signed with WWE back in May and have been training at the Performance Center ever since. Duke, who stands at 5’11, fought in the UFC and participated in the eighteenth season of the Ultimate Fighter. She sported a 1-3 record before being cut in 2015 and stopped fighting a year later.

Shafir, who is engaged to NXT tag team champion Roderick Strong, also has a MMA background. She had a 1-3 record, having fought in Invicta in the past.

All four women were a part of an angle last year during the Mae Young Classic where they had a confrontation with the Four Horsewomen of the WWE: Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Bayley.
