Liv Morgan’s alleged stalker faces up to five years in prison
A man accused of stalking Liv Morgan faces up to five years in prison.
Earlier this month, reports surfaced that a man had been arrested outside the WWE Performance Center on June 3. A report from The Independent on Saturday has provided further details on the case.
41-year-old Shawn Chan of Scarborough, Ontario, is facing federal stalking charges. According to an FBI probable cause affidavit, Chan is alleged to have flown from Toronto to Orlando on May 26 and told customs officials he would be staying at the WWE Performance Center. On May 31, Chan visited Morgan’s private home address. Police reviewed security footage and noted in the affidavit that Chan entered the front porch area and appeared to be looking for a spare key.
Chan “touched around the bottom of the front door, swiped the locking mechanism on the door several times with his hand, grabbed the front door handle, and leaned into the door attempting to open it,” according to the affidavit.
He is then said to have picked up a long air rifle pellet gun that had been left out in the porch area.
“The air rifle is a Sig Sauer MCX .177 air rifle capable of firing metal pellets at 600 feet per second. Chan can be seen sitting on the front porch with the pellet gun before standing and walking to the front door,” the affidavit continues.
Chan is said to have loitered around the property for roughly two hours before leaving Morgan a note.
“I came here to pay just a friendly visit, nothing more… Yea, I just wanted to let you know that I was here,” reads a portion of the note Chan left for Morgan. He also left his home address and phone number.
When Chan showed up at the WWE Performance Center on June 3, security recognized him and alerted police, who took him into custody.
Morgan later expressed to police that she is concerned her home address has become public.
“She expressed concern that her home address was known to the public and that two other individuals had shown up to her residence without invitation or notice,” the affidavit states. “The victim explained she does not bring fan mail into the house because of the number of concerning messages she receives.”
