Lesnar vs. Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 38 now a championship unification match

WWE has raised the stakes even further for Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns’ match at WrestleMania 38.

On WWE.com on Friday, it was listed in multiple places that Lesnar vs. Reigns at WrestleMania 38 will now be a championship unification match. WWE also stated on tonight’s SmackDown that Lesnar vs. Reigns will be a title unification match. Lesnar holds the WWE Championship, while Reigns is Universal Champion.

“The table has been set. 2022 Royal Rumble winner and WWE Champion Brock Lesnar has chosen to battle Roman Reigns in The Biggest WrestleMania Match of All-Time. It’s WINNER TAKE ALL in a highly anticipated Championship Unification Match on WrestleMania Sunday,” WWE wrote.

WWE is promoting Lesnar vs. Reigns as being the biggest WrestleMania match of all time.

It was announced earlier today that Lesnar vs. Reigns will be the main event of WrestleMania 38 night two on Sunday, April 3. A contract signing for the match will take place later on tonight’s SmackDown.

Lesnar vs. Reigns was made official for WrestleMania after Lesnar won this year’s men’s Royal Rumble match. Lesnar entered the Royal Rumble after Reigns and Paul Heyman caused him to lose the WWE Championship to Bobby Lashley earlier in the night.

At Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia last Saturday, Lesnar regained the WWE Championship by winning an Elimination Chamber match.

Reigns has held the Universal Championship since August 2020. He retained the title against Goldberg at Elimination Chamber.
