LA Knight expected to receive ‘megapush’ from WWE

It appears that WWE is ready to give LA Knight a huge push.
In the new edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that Knight is expected to receive a “megapush” from WWE going forward. Knight has already gotten victories at back-to-back WWE PPV events.
Meltzer noted that ratings for Knight’s segments and his merchandise sales have both been very strong:
Knight is expected to get a megapush going forward given that the ratings for his segments and his merchandise sales have both been very strong. The crowd reaction alone would help you but in many cases if WWE thinks it’s a fad and there isn’t economic indications they only take crowd reactions to a certain level. But with Knight, the success is across the board. PWInsider also reported the company is renegotiating his deal for as long as another five years.
PWInsider reported on Thursday that WWE and Knight have been negotiating a new contract that’s either being finalized or has already been signed. The report stated that some sources believe the new contract is for up to five years.
The 40-year-old Knight won WWE’s SummerSlam battle royal this August. After that, he entered into a feud with The Miz. Knight defeated Miz at Payback last weekend. John Cena was the special guest referee for the match and endorsed Knight after it was over.
Knight was formerly a star for Impact Wrestling and the NWA as Eli Drake. He made his WWE debut as part of NXT in February 2021.
