Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins booked for WWE Clash of Champions

It didn’t take very long for the first challenger for Kevin Owens’ Universal Championship to be revealed.
In the opening segment of Monday’s Raw, it was announced that Owens will defend his title against Seth Rollins at Clash of Champions on September 25th.
The show began with an in-ring ceremony celebrating Owens’ title win last week. Joined by Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley, Owens declared that Raw was the Kevin Owens show and mocked the fans for chanting that he deserved it last week.
Rollins eventually interrupted the segment and accused McMahon of being involved in Triple H turning on him last week. Foley stepped in, telling Rollins that McMahon really didn’t have anything to do with it. Rollins claimed that Owens was Triple H’s chosen one from the day he stepped foot in NXT. Owens replied, saying the architect had only been drawing blueprints for total failure since he’s been back from injury.
Rollins got the advantage on Owens as they brawled. McMahon attempted to suspend Rollins indefinitely, but Foley wouldn’t allow it. He said they didn’t hand out suspensions to people who have been wronged, they hand out rematches. Foley said he was given the ability to make matches for the brand and demanded McMahon respect that.
Claiming that he wouldn’t put a talent like Rollins on the shelf, Foley made the match official for Clash of Champions.
The show will be the first Raw-exclusive pay-per-view since the WWE Draft. It will take place in Indianapolis, IN.
UPDATE: It was announced at the end of Raw that Owens will face Roman Reigns on next week’s show. If Reigns wins, he will be inserted into a triple threat match for the title at Clash of Champions.
