Kevin Owens clarifies why he had to leave WWE’s South American tour

After having to leave WWE’s house show tour of South America after its first stop, Kevin Owens explained the reason for his absence in a tweet today.

“I’m not sick. I’m not hurt. My family needed me home,” Owens wrote. “Thank you to @WWE & the fans in Argentina & Chile for their support and understanding.”

Owens had wrestled in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Thursday, taking part in a triple threat match for the United States Championship where Baron Corbin retained his title over Tye Dillinger and Owens. WWE then announced that Owens would be missing shows on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday due to personal reasons.

The SmackDown roster’s tour of South America began with stops in Buenos Aires on Thursday and Friday. The remaining shows will be in Santiago, Chile tonight and tomorrow. With Owens off of the tour and AJ Styles returning to the United States to face Finn Balor at TLC, WWE has lined up a big replacement for Sunday’s event in Santiago with Triple H set to return to the ring for the first time since WrestleMania.
