Kane returns on WWE Raw, gets added to TLC main event

Kane returned to WWE television on tonight’s episode of Raw, and he’ll be involved in the main event of TLC on Sunday.
Kane will be teaming with The Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus & Braun Strowman against The Shield in a tables, ladders, and chairs match at the pay-per-view. That was decided after Kane’s interference helped Strowman defeat Roman Reigns in a steel cage main event on Raw tonight.
The storyline was that the heels would get to add another member to their team if Strowman won, but it would have been three-on-three with him removed from the match if he lost. WWE had been teasing who Miz’s choice would be for the additional partner. It was assumed to be Curtis Axel, who was beaten down by The Shield after he tried to attack Reigns, but Miz said that he had different plans.
Cesaro, Sheamus, Rollins, and Ambrose had gotten involved in a brawl during the cage match that ended up backstage, with Miz closing a garage door and preventing them from being able to get back in. Reigns appeared to have the match won, but Kane emerged through the ring and gave him a chokeslam and a tombstone. Strowman got the win with a powerslam, then Miz officially announced that Kane would be the fifth member of their team.
Sunday will be the first time that Kane has wrestled this year. Much of his time has been spent campaigning for mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, with both the primary and general election for that mayoral race set to take place in 2018.
