John Cena would like to star in action-comedy movie with CM Punk

John Cena would be interested in starring opposite CM Punk in a movie role.

While speaking with Cena for an interview published on Thursday, Collider asked which WWE wrestler he’d most like to work with in an action-comedy film. Cena named Punk as his answer, saying he thinks fans would like to see their dynamic play out on screen.

“I think the viewing public probably would get a kick out of… Usually, in the action-comedy space, it’s kind of oil and water, or two comedy styles that combat each other, and I don’t want to say ‘combat,’ but I think people would dig me and CM Punk together,” Cena said.

Punk has acting experience and is set to appear in an upcoming horror movie titled “Night Patrol” and a new Syfy series called “Revival.” He’s represented by Paradigm Talent Agency.

In September of last year, Dave Bautista said he thinks Punk has “pretty unlimited” potential as an actor.

Cena and Punk are likely going to share the ring together at least one more time before Cena’s WWE retirement tour concludes at the end of 2025. Both have declared for the men’s Royal Rumble match that’s taking place on Saturday, February 1.

Punk has expressed interest in facing Cena one-on-one — or potentially even tagging with him — during Cena’s retirement tour. Punk said he has always seen their dynamic as being like Superman (Cena) and Batman (Punk).
