John Cena reacts to WWE meeting with London mayor about potential WrestleMania

Though he won’t be wrestling at the show, John Cena has promised to be in attendance if London ever hosts WWE WrestleMania.
WWE executives Nick Khan and Paul “Triple H” Levesque were in the United Kingdom this week meeting with London Mayor Sadiq Khan about the city potentially hosting a future WrestleMania. Sadiq Khan had mentioned in his re-election campaign that he wanted to bring WWE’s biggest annual event to London. It would be the first time WrestleMania has ever been held in the U.K.
Cena posted a tweet on Friday expressing his excitement that WrestleMania could possibly come to London. His in-ring career will be over by then, but Cena vowed that he would attend the show as a fan.
“The city of London, and all of the UK has supported WWE thru thick and thin. I try to minimize using the word ‘deserve’ so I will use more appropriate terms. I’ve said it before and stand by it. In my mind London has EARNED a chance to host WrestleMania,” Cena wrote. “I won’t get to compete when it happens but I will BE THERE as a fan for sure!”
Cena has announced that 2025 will be the final year of his in-ring career. He’ll have a retirement tour that lasts from January through December, with WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas next April being his last WrestleMania.
When Money in the Bank took place in London last year, Cena made a surprise appearance at the event and cut a promo advocating for London to host WrestleMania. For the idea to become a reality, a site fee would likely need to be agreed to between WWE and government officials.
A future WrestleMania coming to Indianapolis is part of a deal that WWE announced with Indiana Sports Corp last month.
